I love cinder toffee, that and candyfloss are part of my childhood memories of Roker and Seaburn as a kid during the summer holidays. Running into the water at Roker beach and freezing my nads off , but getting toweled off then going to the amusements for some chips and ket later. Always cinder toffee or candyfloss, occasionally a toffee or chocolate apple... Feeling like a millionaire if you got a good drop on the twopenny drop game.. ****. I've turned into my dad!
I remember some candy skeletons as a kid, candy shaped bones and skulls which came in small plastic coffins. Does anyone remember them and what they were called?
They looked like this and you swapped them with your mates to get a full set. A set now worth around £33,000
My good lady reminded me last night that every Christmas nobody gets near the York Fruits. I absolutley demolish them when they are around.
