39 MPs didn’t even use their ‘free’ vote on assisted dying today. OK 7 of them were Sinn Fein who don’t count, and I’m sure some of the others were ill or something but the majority of them should be kicked out immediately. If they don’t have an opinion on something like this what is the point of them? They could have just done the decent thing (as could all the 291 choice deniers who voted against) and done what 75% of their constituents want and vote in favour (of what is a very conservative and narrow bill anyway). Looks like we won’t have a vote at all if we end up helping Trump bomb Iran though. Too important to allow MPs near that one.
At least the assisted dying bill got through. I've been sickened by some of the arguments against the bill based on religious grounds. So your (non-existent) God dictates that I may have to die in physical and mental torment because to elect to die sooner, thereby avoiding some of the torment, would displease Him (Her). **** off.
