Fabrizio, and a few other sources, reporting that Arsenal and Partey still haven't come to an agreement on a new deal, and that he is in talks with other clubs on a free transfer. Allegedly, Partey wants an increase on his £200k p/w wages, but Arsenal have offered parity or slightly less. As Partey knows this will likely be his last big contract, he wants to maximise what he can get, as opposed to taking a wage cut. I know this view isn't universally popular, but I really think it's in our best interests to cut him loose and sign someone else. I haven't been as impressed with him as others were last season. We've been loosely linked with Lucien Agoume of Sevilla, who I really like, and hope we can sign. But let's see what happens.
Yeah - I want us to keep him for another Season as he's an important player but £250k/w for an injury prone 31 year old is somewhat risky. On the other hand Agoume or Wharton wouldn't come cheap.
Why am I seeing links to Noni Madueke from Chelsea? Absolutely the **** not. He's a decent player, but not an upgrade on what we have. Go for someone better than this FFS.
Ornstein all but confirming our fourth £50m signing of 2025. Bit of a shame that all of them have been Zubimendi but whatever.
Waiste of money if you ask me. He looks good, dont get me wrong but unless Kiwior is getting sold I don't see the need.
No chance we should be giving Partey a pay rise. He's just as likely to miss all, or most, of next season with injury as he is to have another fairly injury free year as he did last year. If we are honest, his time at the club has been somewhat of a failure.
Worth considering a move for Douglas Luiz IMO. Arteta tried to sign him while at Villa - Although not a strict DM he can play there as well as No.8.
