I like him. Proof of the pudding and all that, but right now looks like he's clued up and ready to go to work. Interesting to note he implies he's unaware of any plans to appoint another "tier" of management between him and the existing heirarchy - it's all up to him.
He mentioned Gavin Chesterfield quite a few times. Don't see him facing off to Tan though. Maybe B-M, Riley and Chesterfield are going to form some sort of Holy Trinity. Riley seems well connected to be fair. Could all work in our favour.
I got the impression that B-M rates Chesterfield quite highly. It could be that he will become more influential in first team matters and not just academy manager. That would make sense rather than bringing in someone else who may or may not have the desired effect.
Perhaps we'll see some joined up thinking for a change and a clear pathway for youngsters. I said last season when discussing style and identity that it might be better to align the way the first team play with the 21s rather than the other way round. It might be that time. We've had a lot of false dawns. I hope this time we get it right. Didn't Riza have a background developing youngsters?
To be fair, we have seen more individuals coming up from u21s in the last two(?) years. Better selection? Better training? More co-ordination? All of them? Either way, it's a great move!
An area where Tan's investment in facilities and the right guys running the show has come to fruition. We now need the youngsters to take a further step and show how good they can be in the first team. The appointments of BBM and Riley can only help with this
Well. Manager , tick. Assistant, tick. All very boring until he gets stuck in on Monday. Hopefully we'll see a few posts on the Summer 2025 thread then. Nothing to whinge about for a few days.
It seems B B-Ms wife is more famous than he is. Altrincham isn't that far from me. We're almost neighbours. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bbc-morning-live-star-bursts-31897174
Should pop in for a cuppa and a natter.... Find out how he plans to get us to be more effective in final turd... Sorry, I mean third (no offence Irish )....
No offence at all Brizzle. We Irish do like to laugh at ourselves. Reminds me of that old joke about Dick the Shi* known in Ireland as Richard the Turd.
Feel free to whinge away clingo. Happy to hear you have a grump, just to know you're out there. Cardiff football is a grump free zone though. Well until after his first training session.
