It's bollocks, is what it is. The club had £50m+ for Guehi/Elanga bids, then added £10m from Almiron and £20m from Kelly. What would make significantly more sense is to add a few player in THIS financial year, which will then drop off in 3 years time. This bizarre idea that Newcastle have suddenly become a competent club in transfers when we've got a) less people involved, and b) an outgoing CEO is fanciful at best.

We'll get to the 1st, nothing will happen. I dare say we'll get to the 1st August and nothing will happen and it will finally dawn on people that we have inserted some bizarre and not-fit-for-purpose processes into the transfer dealings. But don't worry - I'm sure January will be incredible.

There have been various reports that we would have had to sell players before the PSR deadline if we had made either of those Guehi/Elanga signings.

It wouldn't be that we had suddenly become competent at transfers, it would be that we have continued to be so, having been overwhelmingly successful in the signings that we have made since the takeover.

You go ahead early with your belief that we will sign no one. For myself, I'll wait until the transfer window closes and see what we've done before deciding whether or not to have a tantrum

2) moan about how Howe family nepotism is ruining our club

We don’t bank the Kelly money till the 30th of the month man. Chill out. We’ve also had to fire out a boat load of money in bonuses for CL qualification and the cup win. We won’t see CL money till this time next year.
