he’ll already know Le Bris well as they were at Lorient together. I get the impression the sacking of managers at Sunderland is a KLD decision though.
It’s definitely an appointment that shows KLD isn’t planning on the premier league being a one season adventure to bank some parachute payments this is about setting up a sustained premier league club
I hope we maintain what we've done well (targeting UK Academies (I'm most excited by the Gray and Lennon Miller links), trying to implement a playing style that will most appeal to our crowd and therefore utilise them as an asset, provision of pathway for Academy players etc) and that this is just a move to improve the things we've perhaps not done so well rather than a complete revamp.
Just in the interest of balance though, we don't know how well he knows the Prem so it remains to be seen how well he can identify value and talent that will translate well into this league.
https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...-new-sunderland-off-field-appointment-5186090 Echos story. Couple of points from here that I thought was interesting: Well be looking to bring in high quality talent from abroad which he will help with (mentioned earlier Speakman has a mixed record here) Roma’s statement says he’s left for a new challenge so possibly been in talks for a while.
Looks an impressive move. I for one mind wouldn’t be happy if it elbowed Speakman. If it’s alongside and agreed and cordial then it sounds superb.
I'm happy. I trust KLD's judgement more than mine, expect they will have it worked out so Speakman and new guy can work independently and collaborate successfully. Exciting times. It's never been this promising in my lifetime. Thank fook for KLD.
