Incredible scenes in the USA yesterday when a legitimate Democrat Senator Alex Padilla was forcibly dragged out of a meeting and thrown to the ground and handcuffed.....all he was doing was trying to ask a question in his own State.......Trump is turning into the Wests version of Putin and not in a discreet way either....he is turning the States into a fire ball of opposites.

Plus Trumps hot and cold approach to world politics and the new happenings in the middle east...plus his Ukrainian antics is making the world into a one minute to midnight catastrophe.

PS......US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has said.... that they have plans in place to take Greenland and Panama by force if necessary.....in fact plans in place for nearly every situation.

The USA are becoming a concern regarding world peace....it's not just Russia, China, N Korea or Iran or Iraq anymore.

When Donald Trump was sworn in as US President for a second time in January, he made a promise, "My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier", he told his audience at home and far beyond.

Humm well that didn't last very long did it.....this man will bring the world down around him....and he is more likely to start WW3 with a nuclear strike as anyone else.....the man is an outright thug and liar.

He see's European States and their leaders as meaningless pawns in his game of self indulgence....look at me everyone....don't just jump ask how high.

I fear the US could tip over into something not far short of civil war. It's certainly no longer an ally to trust.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy8d3d5l9l1o

In case anyone hasn't heard about it, it's an agreement between the US, UK and Australia to jointly design and build the next generation of hunter-killer submarines. As design and development costs make up such a big proportion of such projects, it's got to make sense to spread that over as many boats as possible. It also serves America's strategic interests in strengthening Australia's military profile in the Pacific where China is seeking to dominate.

Further to my comment about Trump taking the USA to the brink of civil war, two local politicians have been shot dead in Minnesota.

Two other local politicians have apparently been wounded in a separate attack.

The Governor has described the killings as “politically motivated assassinations”. A “stay indoors” warning has been issued and householders have been advised not to open their doors to police unless there are two officers visible.

There’s no information on why the attacks were carried out but all four victims are apparently Democrats.

It has been downhill ever since Trumps mobsters raided parliament after he lost the previous election......one of his first jobs this time around was to release and pardon them all.....law and order is whatever Trumps decides on the day......surely he isn't now "erasing" opposition party members.....has he now become the Al Capone of the 2020's

I didn't watch anhy of the Colour Trooping stuff for Charlie today but I can just imagine that in contrast to the Yanks our lot were totally the opposite. They can't do pagentry can they. Their troops were shuffling along and not even marching

That sort of band-standing by politicians seems to compromise the independence often armed services, which is a dangerous thing. It comes on top of the politicisation of the judiciary.

Some weeks ago, I saw Trump give a speech at a military establishment. What they’d done is to put a large group of service people BEHIND the lectern for the benefit of the TV cameras. Some reacted enthusiastically, some less so but politicians should not put the military on display like that as it makes them look like supporters. That’s especially true if a few weeks later, you’re going to put them in the streets in response to political demonstrations.

This is important stuff which can eat away at the democratic system from inside. Ultimately, the military are there to preserve and protect the state and its constitution, not to promote any individual politician or political party. Wise politicians would honour that - but this is Trump.

I know what he’s tried to deploy against demonstrators is the National Guard not the Army as such, but they have automatic weapons, armoured vehicles and jet fighters just like the real thing, so the distinction is going to be lost on the majority of the population.

Other than now, the National Guard have previously only been deployed once by a President in America’s history. That was by JFK to protect black kids being bussed into previously white-only schools in southern states. This though was I think to enforce specific equal rights legislation passed by Congress. There’s been no such legislation to victimise immigrants as Trump Is trying to do.

Hiow far America has fallen. From
JFK, a rich and entitled Ivy League blue blood, who nevertheless let black kids into good schools and faced down the Russians in the Cuban missile crisis, to Donald J Trump. Jeeeesus.

There must of been an unbelievable smirk on Putin's face seeing that military demonstration that Trump put on compared with the Red Square parades....add to that China showing off it's military as well....it was so second/third rate.....then compare it also to the Kings Birthday Parade yesterday where military precision is the end result....add to that the exactness of the timing as well.....and Trump just falls short in all departments.....happy birthday Donald (duck).

Yes our armed forces do things well but I read in the paper this morning that the nearest defence from ballistic missiles for our people in Cyprus and UAE is a destroyer presently in the Indian Ocean with the carrier group.

We have the missiles and the radar on the destroyers so it shouldn’t be too much of a job to develop ground based launchers but with the USA MIA, we need to get on with these things.

Knowing the MOD, there’ll probably be a multi-year feasibility study etc. Surely the answers obvious: put what the RN have on the back of a lorry……,

MY FLAGS BIGGER THAN YOURS......nah, nah, nanah na.

President Donald Trump has installed on the White House lawn two giant flag poles 100ft tall with very large stars and stripes flags.

He paid for them out of his own pocket.

What’s tax? In an incredible stroke of misfortune, Trump managed to recruit highly qualified property managers who turned out to be totally incompetent. They made not one but two basic property management errors/
    1. They overestimated the value of the property when it came to selling them or raising finance, and
    2. Underestimated the value of the properties when it came to paying taxes.
Just can’t get the staff can you?

World Cup news... and it's only 2025!

Bad weather is affected the Club World Cup (is anyone watching it?) and presumably next year could be the same.

FIFA has decided it should tell teams where they can stay during the competition and compel them to move around for different stages of the competition.

Pakistan said they would recommend Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize for intervening in the Pakistan India conflict.
Only IF he did not support Israel in attacking Iranian nuclear sites.
Trump's ego is so big he would definately consider such a request.

What more has Donald Trump got to do before starting WW3 ?....pictures of him at his lecturn with his inner circle of henchmen telling the world that he has bombed Iran's nuclear sites.......this is starting to make Vladimir Putin look like a pussy cat......does that mean the end of his Nobel Peace Prize offer from Pakistan.

In what I think will be an isolated incident, I do find myself in agreement with something that Trump has done.

How he’s done it is another thing. Firstly, his crowing lacks the dignity that should come with the high office he holds. There’s also an argument that he should have obtained Congressional approval before acting. I’m no expert but if so, given he’s already at war with the judiciary and state governments, it’s another body-blow against the American constitution.
