I knew it was pie in the sky that we’d be getting a fee for Pedro, disappointed he’s leaving though. Things can change quickly and when we had to trigger the clause probably nothing was certain and we were hoping to keep him.
well so far we have the keepers sorted and now we bring in an experienced centre back and its not even july whats going on
I think this is the first transfer window in a while where signings are just getting done with a quick turnaround.
The Pedro thing is bizarre but nothing to get too bothered about. So far we’ve made three permanent signings and it’s only 19th June. Our first signing last summer was 27th June and it was the ‘obligation-to-buy’ deal for Giles. First new signing was Drameh on 23rd July and Mehlem after that on 1st August.
They must be very confident that at least one striker is arriving. Surely they wouldn't let Pedro go otherwise. I know we have form for this sort of clanger, but imagine the noise if they can't get anyone decent in
It's almost as if lessons have been learnt, incapables replaced, off field team strengthened, etc. No?
We’ve brought in an experienced centre half. So who out of Jones, Egan, Hughes and Macca will be going out the door? You’d hope it wasn’t Macca if we haven’t got a proper left back sorted.
Yeah, it’s only taken three years, tens of millions of pounds wasted, five head coaches sacked etc. I’ll reserve judgement until I see what the squad looks like come the first game of the season but it’s certainly an improvement over last summer so far.
Hopefully not Hughes. Probably one of Jones or McLoughlin. I’d rather sell Jones as like you said, McLoughlin’s more versatile and he’s left-footed as well. Ideally, I’d keep all five but they all would argue they’re good enough to start.
