I'd say trippier was only delighted to cream off two signing on fees while ruining England's chances at the same time.

Kerkez pretty much announced his arrival every day online himself for the last 2 weeks tbh.

    Pass.

I don't think he's going to be that good. Looked decent for a few games in a very poor Soton team, but vanished after a little burst of good games.

2 years left on his contract, my guess is no-one will go for him this summer, wait to see how he does again this season, if Soton don't get promoted the price will drop dramatically, if they fail the following year he'll leave on a free.

Yeah I see a 75m price tag for 3 decent bursting runs in a season <laugh>

    No thanks

Tbf I've since heard stuff down here which has put a bit of a different light on that and made me revise that opinion somewhat.

He's insanely talented and in that sense the hype is honestly justified.By far the most talented academy product we've had since Bale but of course only time will tell whether that talent is realised.

No chance a fee will be anywhere near that though. Somewhere around £35m I'd guess.

His next move will be absolutely crucial imo and I don't think a big club is the right one. Needs to be somewhere where he's going to play regularly and also under the right manager.

Biased perhaps but I actually think he'd be better off sticking around and a full championship season could be the making of him. Bit similar to Grealish at Villa.

100% be better staying with you guys and getting 40 games contributing 10-15 goals. Then maybe a move to someone like Brighton palace Brentford where can get a couple solid years and potentially then make the big jump if needed.

If he goes too big now will just be like Zaha imo and be bit part player, development will stop and will be loaned out or sold in a year or two.

I think given he also went to Chelsea and didn’t enjoy it and wanted to come back should also serve as a warning that jumping ship too early isn’t a good idea.

Yeah exactly that. Even if he moves now a midtable club like Palace/Bournemouth would be the best bet but not sure those clubs would be willing to gamble with sort of fee.

From our point of view too his value won't deteriorate that much if he stays and has a great season with us. His post Christmas drop off means nobody will spend more than £30-40m now imo but if he progresses with us next season then loads of clubs will want him next summer and we'll still get £20-30m for him.

Think a season in the championship will also help with him getting used to being kicked a lot as he struggled with that a bit when teams clocked him and started doing it early season.

    hmm, sounds odd.

Can't see why this rumour has reappeared, seeing as it was pretty much killed about a month ago, unless there is something in it.

Just reading around, rumours that he's stalling on a new contract unless Newcastle let him have a release clause of £83m. But he's still under until 2028, so as you say unless he makes a fuss about leaving, Newcastle hold all the cards.

I know I have been FSG's biggest critic, and what I say now may sound like they can't win, but... Isak is nowhere near worth £150m, just as Caicedo wasn't worth £115m. I understand Wirtz - he's a generational talent. Isak is very, very good - but we could get a decent striker and a CB (and possibly a DM) for that amount of money. Not sure that putting all our eggs from three transfer windows into two baskets is that clever. However, the club obviously knows that the commercial revenue generated by this year's title will fund us for another year anyway, so the overall spend, when we're building from a position of strength rather than desperation, is very sound and long overdue. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I think the Isak stuff is clickbait bollocks. I think we will box clever for someone up top, maybe a player we haven't considered yet.

Good post. The key bit for me is building from a position of strength.
