Surely the eyeball test was thoroughly discredited by Ndombele Eyeball test had people drooling about how he'd dribble past opponents and send a through ball straight to the striker's feet Data said he did **** all for the other 89:55 of the match
So the main quote-unquote criticism of Kalimuendo I've seen is he scored "only" 12 non-penalty goals last season The fact that his 17 goals were literally 1/3 of all the league goals Rennes scored last season is apparently irrelevant...
My only worry would be the French league. Spurs record from buying there hasn’t been the best. That said, every player is different
I reckon he'll leave. Good timing for both the club and the player. Leaves having captained the side to a major trophy.
Probably right time to go. Sums up modern football (money) that he will have to stay until they’ve played a friendly in Korea though.
I think you're right, he has been an brilliant and loyal servant to the club and to go out on a high would be fitting , also a good time for Frank to appoint a new club captain , maybe sweetner to keep Romero happy
I haven't seen anything from Romero to suggest he'd be a good captain, either. There's a real dearth of proper leaders in that squad and I think we paid the price on umpteen occasions last season when we were ahead in games and they just slipped away from us.
I can’t see Mbeumo signing for Utd now. If it was going to happen, it would have been done by now. Spurs have Frank and CL to offer him. I think he’ll be a Spurs player soon.
I think you’re being way too premature. The window only reopened yesterday. Still think he ends up at Utd as they will pay more.
Guys...data is everything you know about a player...what you need to do is to turn it into information that tells you how much the player is worth to you. Humans are terrible at analysing large data sets but AI is very good at it. In terms of things like attitude some of that will come from the data analysis...eg does the player's performance tail off as results go against him. You can also look at social media posts for that. What exactly is a scout going to be able to add?
A scout would see obvious things such as players throwing a diva at team-mates when themselves are at fault for a GA, powder-puff in the tackle etc. They would also see things that video analytics systems currently cannot measure for any game submitted.
That's true but it's a tiny amount of the data. It may occasionally mean we don't sign someone where all the other stats look strong.
You have a video analysis system that can extract any measure you can conceive, on demand. On this basis, for NDombele : 1. List all the measures that you would demand to be extracted, from every available recorded game that he played in prior to his move to Spurs ?? 2. From all the measure data sets, to sign him, does "computer says : yes" or not ??
Social media posts that might not even be from the player themselves, too. Anyone with any sense will have somebody running their public accounts.
I can't do that but an AI can! Because it can analyse which measures are a strong predictor of future performance. If the AI can't tell that Ndombele is going to be a dud then we may as well just choose signings at random.
It would be very unusual to not sign someone based solely on their social media posts but the AI can easily monitor for things of concern and flag them up.
