Hearing that Argyle are in talks with Sheffield Wednesday's 6ft tall Striker/Winger...Mallik Wilks who spent last season on loan at Rotherham....playing 41 times and scoring 9 goals.
Not specifically but I think contract negotiations have been going on. We’ve heard no details. He’s utterly crap and you’d be wasting your money. Don’t sign him under any circumstances.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that this Club World Cup would have "the best clubs in the world". But Bayern Munich ran up double figures against their amateur opponents even though Harry Kane did not find the net....despite playing for an hour against part-timers Auckland.......this was not what FIFA wanted. Bayern Munich...10-0...Auckland City (NZ).
Apparently, at some matches, they've been moving fans from the seats they booked to seats facing the TV cameras so the attendance looks bigger than it is.
I'm having trouble deciding how the FIFA Lords are filling their brown envelopes with this tournament....they'll have to have a word with that banned Swiss ex-maestro..... assuming he's allowed near a football pitch these days. .
TAKEOVER TALK ??? Am I reading this correctly.....there is talk of a US takeover of Plymouth Argyle... fronted by Gareth Bale ...and including some members of the Storch family. ?
I'm not sure if this relates to the negotiations that have recently ended or a new set. The detail (American investors, minority shareholding taken) is the same... but that doesn't mean its the same crew. https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/gareth-bale-plymouth-argyle-takeover-10268266
They bandy about the words “private equity funds” here and I wonder if they mean that in the technical sense or just a group of private individuals making equity investments. They ain’t the same thing…….
OUTGOING Has been confirmed that Ryan Hardie has joined Wrexham......no fee mentioned.....we will be completely devoid of goalscorers now.....need to spend big to get a proven scorer. Adam Randell possibly next......then a takeover and maybe goodbye Simon Hallett. That only leaves Pilgrim Pete and the Tea Lady left....does start to feel a little insecure around Home Park. Tom Cleverley must be wondering to what he has signed up to.
We seem to be battling it out with Wigan for the signature of Christian Saydee a forward from Portsmouth.
dont panic plym .. all will be well and we here of take overs and investors all the time, until these thinks happen we keep moving..
Unless Simon Hallett has had a complete change of mind, it's not a takeover but a new investor coming in alongside Simon Hallett. That's been the strategy up 'til now. That's assuming there's any truth in the story at all of course.
373 posts at this time on this subject on pasoti....completely dominating everyones thoughts at the moment.....we need clarification where Simon Hallett stands in all of this.....the talk is as if this is a total takeover and not just help for the present leadership to fulfil their plans for the future development of PAFC.

You won’t get any comment from anybody in this and I’m afraid anyone who’s demanding one hasn’t a clue about how these things work. Simon Hallett has already stated his intentions to make Argyle an established Championship club, subject to three principles: That it’s done by making the club self-financing rather than unsustainable transfer dealings. Retaining an ethical and community based ethos. He’s also said he cannot fund a progression beyond that towards the EPL. Therefore, he would seek to bring in a new investor or investors, initially as minority shareholders, with him continuing as the majority shareholder. Those new investors would have to subscribe to the same ethical standards. Over time, as the club progresses, the minority shareholder(s) would inject additional cash and eventually become the majority owners. I hope I’ve paraphrased that adequately. If circumstances have changed, I’m sure he’ll say so. The person that wrote this is a football journalist in effect writing about financial matters which he’s not qualified in. He’s mentioned “a private equity fund” it seems. If that’s who’s really involved we ought to be told. I seriously doubt it is, as if it was proper PE, then they wouldn’t be having Gareth Bale floating about. My concern is that if the financial services sector was an army, private equity would be the special forces. Highly trained, ruthless, not always too concerned about the rules of war and always likely to inflict heavy casualties, sometimes on the enemy and sometimes on themselves. Ethical and in it for the long haul they are not. I can’t see how their involvement would be consistent with Simon Hallett’s principles.
Sky Sports are reporting that Wrexham paid only £700,000 for the signature of Ryan Hardie....thanks to a release clause in his contract. It will surely cost Argyle three or four times that amount to get an equivalent replacement. I wonder if Hardie will be able to perform at Wrexham....previous Argyle players have not always produced the goods away from Home Park......Whittaker comes to mind and also Ennis if my memory serves me right.
