You gave me a laugh to mate. I think I don't look at life in microcosms if that's the correct term, I look at life as a whole. Everyones life, not just selected bits of it, ie where we put people into boxes to frown up on them. For me it's all way deeper than that, and I suppose in part I fear where this globalism is taking the human race, because nothing improves, we just try to become more controlling, less socialiable, no less hateful as a race. Sort of like heading towards totaltarianism but not in the sense of a better place, but maybe that's because I'm of an age where I recognise the freedoms we use to have, that we no longer have...or maybe I'm just too thoughful.
Sorry mate only just seen your comment. Well done bro. Edit: btw I do agree with you on the association with smoking, now that is a problem, more than the damn things killing you. We are creatures of habit, and from that perspective of what you have put forward I totally agree.
Anyway on a more cheerful topic, I'll tell you one of my pet hates at the moment, people who walk around with mobile phones attached to their ear or via earbuds, particularly the latter, who think the whole ****ing world needs to hear their conversation. Which just got me thinking wasn't there some guy named Dom Jolly who use to do a sketch about that lol.
Nope - some are simply more avoidable and aren't responsible for collateral deaths ... things have improved markedly in that regard with the introduction of smoking bans in public places ...
Some years back I had to try and calm myself down because I was about to proper lay into some guy. I was out relaxing somewhere and I could here this chap on his mobi....anyway I get up and move to a place where I can't hear him.....and then the ****er decides to go on walkabout with the conversation back into my space. I'm like no, don't say anything he'll shut up in a minute, and thankfully he did. I just don't know why people think it's ok to do something so unsocial that reaches into your personal zone/space.
Mate - more than once I've felt the need to ask someone to turn down their 'social media' on the commute to Londinium ... always try to do so with a smile and good humour ... at least to start with ... but I've certainly got less tolerant of selfish ****ish behaviour as I've got older ... In fairness, only once had some scrote kick-up a fuss ... lippy little twat playing some 'gangsta' stuff on his phone at full volume ... moved carriages when I subsequently treated him to O Fortuna from Carmina Burana on mine...
Yeah it was all kicking off in the commons earlier today, which finally meant it was getting somewhere.
I should have added to my earlier reply, suggestions this goes right to the top, involving Whitehall officials. Going to get messy but still don't think they will get the most in power culprits, wherever they lurk.
Re vapes there'll clearly be some big health issues with them down the line but they're absolutely less harmful than cigarettes imo. The downside of course is that it's too easy to puff on them constantly. I was always very anti them and think I used to say as much on here. I stopped smoking for 3 years without touching them once but then randomly bought a pack of cigarettes again out of nowhere. After two weeks of smoking again it felt like my chest has been introduced to the business end of a sledgehammer so reluctantly started vaping and immediately felt the difference. I can't see me stopping them anytime soon tbh. My only vice now I don't use drink and drugs and it definitely makes that easier which is a sound trade off for me.
I agree on all this and you make a great point about the puffing away constantly. I'd be playing a video game or watching a movie and completely lose track of the fact I'd been vaping almost the entire time.
For me it's working at home, easily more than doubles my daily intake compared to a day in the office. Of course the other factor in this is being able to use them in places you wouldn't smoke, a big one for me being football matches. I think a lot of damage from them will come from snide ones as well tbh. I don't buy from any dodgy high street vape shops and only reputable retailers.
I started smoking cigarettes aged 12 and gave up aged 12, took me three months to realise they were a total waste of time
I was quite young when I had my first cigarette, I can't remember exact age now but I'll say about 7-9, I hated it. The problem was I started going into pubs at about the age of 15, as you will know it was easy to get served in a pub in them days, then the smoking came with it, Can't really remember what I was smoking way back then, either No6 or Embassy red pack. My last smoke was B&H gold pack.
