Might be a good point by the end of the season. Shows how far we've home though that I'm sitting here disappointed that we've only drawn an way match!
Feel a bit disappointed, but we can't win ever game. Sounds like we gave it a good go- which is always pleasing to hear, so let's hope we get back to winning ways next week. Sounds like hogan had a good game!
Yeah. seemed to have a lot of the ball - be interesting to listen to CP's thoughts - it sounded a real end-to-end game though. See 'Udd lost again - so we stretch our lead by another point from them - though MKD won again.
the way i look at it, every away point is a good point providing we do the business at home, we are still averaging well over 2 points a game, i think i'd have taken 4 points from hudders at home and walsall away, considering we got none from these two matches last season.
Sure- I agree with any point away from home is a good one, just a shame we've ended the day with weds closing the gap to 5. Nothing to be worried about though. Just wasn't our day, what with the last minute penalty appeals being turned down and then hitting the post.
Yeah i agree BlockM. Actually if you do the maths, we have 47 points from 20 games - if we keep going at the same rate then we will end up with 108 points ! I think we can cope with a couple of losses from now on dont you ? - and still win the league.
Agree with all that we can't complain about an away point. Need to win next week than enjoy a happy Christmas looking down on the rest.
Exactly, and against a side who are fighting against relegation, desperate to turn round their form and prove something against the league leaders, its a decent point, i'd rather we got 3 points at hillsborough and the galpharm if it means dropping a couple point here and there. And yes regarding the points total, the top few sides run of form has beeen alot higer than the normal league one season, so there will be blips as these runs cant go on and on (look at hudders all of a sudden), its just about how we deal with setbacks, I think we all know what we did after our last setback!
In August if you said we`d be top on the 10th December we`d all be happy then if you said by 5 points we`d be "over the moon" .If we win next week and with Weds v Hudders the same day good for a draw we`ll be even happier. Good result still only 1 defeat this season n i`m loving it.
Yep, only beaten once all season - we are only 3 games away from half -way - if we lose ony 6 games all season then we more tham likely are in top 2.
Evening All - just got back. This was not a good performance by any means. Their MoM was their centre-half Smith and it was a shoo-in really because we kept pumping the ball to him, and he kept clearing. Our MoM was Kermorgant by a country mile, always competetive, winning a large proportion of headers and taking his goal with precision and power. Ephraim's cross was his only telling contribution of the match, and lovely piece of skill though it was, he looks off the pace and still not match fit. Russell was completely anonymous, except for a goal line clearance, he might as well not have been on the field, and it was a major surprise when it was Green who made way for Waggy. A bit of Pritchard was seriously called for here, but it wasn't to be. The officials were dreadful. BWP got stuff all protection all afternoon, finally being bundled into the Walsall net at a corner. The referee apparently saw nothing. The linesman apparently saw nothing either when first Waggy had his heels clipped on the edge of the box, then in the following attack the defender put the ball over the bye-line with both hands, as clear a penalty as I've seen all season. The sending off was right and proper and to be fair to him, Sadler walked straight off without protest. The Addicks were many and noisy and it felt like there were way more there than the official count of 1065, I'd have said 15-1600, but we deserved better fare than this. Oh, and Jon Macken is looking scarily like Arthur Horsfield these days...
Thanks Tewkes, listening on Player it sounded like we had most of the chnces but were left open on a couple of occassions in the 2nd half. Getting ready to watch the Real v Barca game tonoight - then the Khan fight !
Addicks were noisy? Don't be ****ing stupid pal, your away support was woeful throughout. (and so was the general home atmosphere before you start!). Just over 1,000 Charlton fans seemed correct too, away end holds about 1.7K and both wings were particularly empty bar a few standers/flags. Nevertheless a cracking point for ****ty us, seemed a fair result, could have gone either way, ect. You lot shouldn't be too upset with a draw away from home anyways, bound to drop points and play shoddy. Usually happens against smaller teams like ourselves.
Your rudeness does you no credit. Yes, you deserved your point, and if you continue to think of yourselves as a 'smaller team', that's exactly how you'll stay.
How am I being rude? I pointing out something I strongly didn't agree with. I may have swore but I didn't mean no harm, tell me to **** off back, it's all cool. ...and what the ****?! We are small, I know so, and it's how we're always going to be in this division, unless some rich **** takes over and we go places of course...
Ignore him, he's a Brummie - so quite obviously suffering from some sort of inferiority complex- its a Brummie thing. After all, i'd have some sort of complex if i had to live in that ****hole.
I was working and listing to BBC WM after the game some soft walsall fan said we were **** and should not be top of the league. Well **** me i rather be top than be the worst team in Birmingham by FAR
