As much as DLS tried to screw us, it ended up being our fielding that cost us the win. At least five runs given away really badly in those last two overs.
Well done South Africa! Their first title. It would be great if South Africa could establish themselves alongside Oz, India, and England (arguably) as a top test playing nation and get rewarded with a 5 test series when they play the afore-mentioned nations.
Might be a bit more than that, DBD just got a 48 ball ton! Out next ball, but they’re going at 12 an over.
Have a match on here. Certainly not beyond Somerset to chase that total. Disappointing end to the Innings but well played Meridith at the end
Looking almost impossible for Essex and Gloucs to qualify already. And hence seven sides fighting for four places - and one of those sides is Middlesex, who history would suggest probably aren't going to be threat (and just one win after six games would support that). Difficult to judge Glamorgan. On paper, four wins from seven is solid. But all of those four wins have come against Glous, Essex and Middlesex. Surrey are disadvantaged in that Essex and Gloucs are the two sides who they only play once (albeit they still have to play those two games). Everyone else in the top seven plays them both twice this campaign.
Busy week for Hants this week, Surrey at home on Tuesday, followed by a trip west for games against Somerset and Gloucs before the CC resumes. 2 wins out of 3 would be ideal.
