The day (before) has arrived. Suitcases packed and just counting down the hours before we drive to the airport. Then it’s 12 days in Sanur, Bali. Bintang and sun and nice cheap food. Both Mrs K and myself have been hanging out for this holiday all year.
Have a Bintang or 2 for me please We're hoping the wife will be able to travel about 2 years after she gets the transplant
We're off to Frankfurt tomorrow for 5 days. Springsteen on Wednesday and some sightseeing around that. Never been to Germany before so it will be a bit of an adventure.
German cities are fantastic mate. Frankfurt is mad it’s like a mini New York. They have incredible food and buildings, they have amazing food and beer, they have superb transport and access, it’s a brilliant place. Hamburg my favourite, then Berlin then Frankfurt. I’ve not been to any German city and not loved it to be honest you will have a blast. Chucking the Boss in the mix will just ice the cake. Is the concert at the Deutshe Bank?
That's got me looking forward to it even more, thanks for that! Aye, the gig is at the Deutshe Bank, staying in the Ostend area so kind of between the city centre and the stadium. I'll get to practice the little bit of German I learned in first year comp too
Mate it’s insane. The stadium makes the SOL look like a portakabin and I don’t say that lightly it’s a stunning venue. We got the train from city to stadium was about £3 (mind was about 6 year ago), I think they’ve done some renovations since as well, I didn’t see why that was needed. We were warned before we went (for Frankfurt v Stuttgart) that the tiers are designed to move but it is wild in that place. Fans were ferocious. Be a cracking venue for a concert you will have an absolute blast. I will admit jealousy.
Stadium looks cracking. We went to Madrid to see him last year at Athletico's Estadio Metropolitana, if Eintracht's stadium is half as good I'll be over the moon. Bit of luck we'll be seeing the lads playing in these venues in a few years!
That would be a dream. Metropolitana is a stunning venue for sure, but it’s like a lot of new stadiums. German stadiums are quite unique. There aren’t 2 Bundesliga stadiums that look like the Deutsche Bank ( was actually Commerzbank when we went). I’ll wait to see which you prefer, never been Atletico personally. Guarantee the meat and beer better in Franky and that is praise cos Spain knows how to do red meat!
