15:00 York - Absurde Class-1 Listed Stakes over distance just of 1m6f on good-to-firm ground. Only 4-runners but a tough nut to crack as any one of the competitors could win it. However, Fastnet Rock gelding has good form in this class and is consistent. The Saturday before Royal Ascot... Lots of small fields, lots of non runners because of the going changing (or not) – 24 at Sandown at the time of writing – and a fiendishly hard handicap at York that I only managed to narrow down to about six possibles because there are several runners making handicap debuts after only three or four starts. So leave the whole lot alone and hope that there will be some competitive pattern races at the Royal meet where the favourites are not all short prices. That might be wishful thinking...
Found one too good again, in poor form but will have one more Saturday bash wiithout much confidence, but hopefully will run a decent race with top NH jockey on board. 18:28 Hexham - Ballystone Class-3 Handicap Hurdle over 2m4f. on good ground.
