I think he’s a superb player so I’d love to see it happen. Been a fan since he was part of “BMW” in the Championship with them. Only seems to be getting better too.
If we get Mbuemo and Eze, I'd be absolutely chuffed. Mbuemo is exactly the signing that would completely silence my bitching around Ange going and Frank coming. I'd also have to salute Levy for providing a potential watershed moment in PL power shifting from Man U to Tottenham that I think he's has been plotting towards for the longest time, since the Berbatov and Carrick days of Man U always getting the best of our players.
Have to wonder if our suing Ineos is somehow tied in with us going for Mbuemo "Want the lawsuit to go away? Better back off signing him then..."
Uriel Iugt says Rosario Central offered to take Alejo Veliz on loan - and we told them no, if you want him you're buying him outright
Honestly, that's more on Espanyol than anyone else: they don't really cross the ball much, so loaned a guy who is good in the air In retrospect, an Eredivisie loan would have worked out best, as he'd have bullied their defences
Yeah but if Spurs are willing to sell already then you have to question why they signed him in the first place. He’s played around 10 games for Spurs and is 22 yet they’ve decided he can leave already.
Veliz made a lot of sense in Ange's first season, as his backup plan was to rain crosses into the box so having Veliz and Richy as targets for Perisic's crosses is a no-brainer But then that backup plan fell apart due to Perisic getting injured, followed by Veliz getting injured and our plan to get him back to fitness when we couldn't guarantee him regular minutes was a loan to Sevilla...where he got less minutes than if he stayed with us
Looks like Tel will be joining permanently, €35m. Safe to say that’s a fair bit less than the £60m option we had!
Didnt set the world alight in his loan spell but he hardly kicked a ball for Bayern before he arrived at Spurs. He’s very raw but he clearly has bags of talent and seems to have a great attitude and hunger . £40m deal in all seems about ok in today’s market. Just hope we get Mubeumo or Semenyo now.
Tel doesn’t excite me. Didn’t see anything special from him at all in his loan spell tbh. He’s young so will hopefully improve though.
Looks like we might need Tel for pre-season: Mikey Moore appears to have picked up an ankle injury in U19 football Jonathan Liew no doubt blaming Ange for that, too...
PL + CL + domestic cup campaigns. For a manager with actual squad management skills and ability to instill winning ways in his squad, have the squad big enough to seriously rotate.
2 x 11 players, with : 1. T1/T2 being the strongest/weaker starting XIs 2. Those in T2 being sufficiently rotated in starting XIs to have the motivation/fitness to be able to front up on demand to T1.
Having two good players for each position doesn't work if teams have twigged your tactics, though, you just have somebody fresher going through the tactics that have already been twigged and the results wouldn't necessary be any different There certainly need to be tactical subs, for example if a Defoe-like striker is getting bullied off the ball having a Llorente-like battering ram ready to dish it back is key, similarly if a winger who cuts in gets doubled up on then having a line-hugging winger to pull that second defender out of position is going to bend opponents to our game Obviously some systems do require direct replacements in some positions, most obviously those reliant on attacking fullbacks as having reserves playing Santiniball will neuter the system outright, but a percentage of the squad does need to exist for a Plan B to be executed
