I mean I agree with most of that but it's the internet There are still some useful and interesting posts , I don't think it's better or worse than it's ever been on here
If anything I think good points are missed because people do just fixate on the poster making the post..
all football club owners are a bunch of bellends in it for themselves, with a potential side effect of benefitting the fans with success at best and ruining the club at worst, with some middle ground thats all
For me, the big difference between the two owners, is that the Allams were deliberately malicious, whereas Acun's just a bit scatty. We'd be more financially more secure under Ehab, but we'd never achieve anything either, whereas Acun's clearly going to keep going for it (at least until he gets bored, or runs out of money).
Which is why I would prefer an austere dickhead over a profligate lunatic as owner. For all of Ehab’s penny-pinching, he and Darnbrough still built a League One title-winning side for McCann at the first time of asking. How many seasons did Sunderland linger in League One after they were relegated? Coyle, Emmanuel, Smallwood, Docherty, Jones, Adelakun and Whyte were pivotal to us winning the league and gaining promotion back to the Championship. I would argue that those signings in the context of League One were better transfers and better value for money than most of the 60 odd players signed under Acun in the Championship.
Acun could be a fantastic owner if he just let the football people run the club. I believe he’s appointed some good people to compliment some very able people already at the club. As a man who is at the centre of every decision in his business world, he just can’t help himself! I can’t believe people are even trying to justify Ehab’s reign. He only ran a tight ship because he didn’t want to lose or invest money and just wanted to cash in on our assets.
This is funny taking into account this 'New Manager' thread has been hijacked again with constant references to the Allams
it was ****ing boring when Ehab was in charge though, penny pinching and not stumping up any sort of funds to rely on EFL loans aren’t what I’m here for. I wanna see stupid attempts at landing players like Seri in a **** or bust move. On this planet once and it’s a sport, least let it be somewhat of a laugh following it.
