I completely agree. Iran’s regime is as vile as the current Israeli government and oppresses its own people, as well as supplying Hamas with funds and weapons. The problem is that anything which inflames the situation in the Middle East is likely to escalate as Iran takes reprisal action.
Yeah, he seems to have calculated that his political survival depends on never ending war. Same with Putin. In both cases, they aren’t fighting to ‘win’ anymore, and the cost to their own people isn’t a consideration. And then there’s Trump setting fire to his own country. And Farage preparing to do the same here. What a world.
Israel (administration) is. Think the quote was 'now it's time to cut the snakes head after fighting it's proxies'. I agree Iran is vile too. All very depressing.
If Western powers weren’t run by idiots and posturing narcissists, they’d be actively encouraging the people of Iran to change their country from within. Instead, the USA and Israel are picking a fight with a nation they don’t understand, because of it’s autocratic rulers.
Yeah but the Palestinians have a genuine grievance with Israel even if Hamas are scumbags which makes the whole situation much more complex. Whereas Iran's grievance with Israel mainly seems to be that they exist.
I was hanging out with three Israelis a few years ago now and they were looking forward to him being removed imminently and charged with serious crimes. Now, I am not conspiracy theorist, but interesting that it is basically the actions of Hamas keeping that guy from facing the consequences of his corruption!
I think the rulers of Israel and Iran are useful to each other; each provides a bogey man for the other to point the finger at, thus distracting their people from their own leader’s shortcomings
The shame about Iran is that it us actually a very cultured country. There is masses of history there and some amazing sites. For long periods in history it was far more sophisticated than Europe. Persia was reknown for it's poets like Rumi and Attar. On top of that, Persian cooking is seriously under-rated. Iran is not the back water some people believe Of all the dangerous countries to visit , Iran's exclusion from the mainstream is tragic. There is alot in Iran to appreciate.
I have just been watching the videos of the Iran counter attack. Wow. I think Israel has ****ed up. That is some serious firepower!
The clips on BBC seem to show Iranian missiles being shot down. I see that America is now providing assistance to Israel. Not sure that the Iranian reaponse will ultimately prove effectual. No countries coming to the assistance of Iran. There was a comment that this is bad news for Russia since Iran will be less capable of providing arms to them.
Don’t worry, this guy knows what he’s doing… https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJsz-85yUye/?igsh=MXNocXBrZzZmb3FmNw==
That’s a good call on Iran being less able to help Russia. Add into the mix how Ukraine are strategically destroying factories that make components for Russian drones, missiles and missile tracking systems, Putin will be running into even more problems. I have also seen, but not checked, that the OPEC countries have started to over produce oil, to force prices down to affect the Russian economy and to try and take over some of their oil exports to India and China by being cheaper.
Tejon I believe the Israeli raids have led to the price of oil increasing which will have a short term benefit to Russia. There were reports earlier this week that the Russian economy would collapse by the end of 2025. I am not sure what is correct.
Oh definitely, but I had bought this myth their iron dome would keep pretty much anything out, and they had some big missiles striking within the city itself.
This is remarkable … “Alex Padilla, a senator from California, was pushed against a wall, removed from the room, and then tackled to the ground and handcuffed, reportedly by Secret Service and FBI agents, at a press conference in LA by Donald Trump’s homeland security secretary, Kristi Noem. He was trying to ask a question about the deployment of marines and national guard forces to LA in his capacity as Angelenos’ elected representative. Padilla, the son of Mexican immigrants, was later released; Noem, speaking to reporters after the incident, said both that she knew the senator and that agents tackled and detained him because neither she nor they knew who he was. In a video of the attack, Padilla can be heard identifying himself as a senator as Noem’s security forces begin to grab and shove him”
I have subscribed to a few American podcast channels and watched this just after it was recorded. It’s insane that this behaviour has become so normal l
