Here we go again. The same folk were eulogising about Junior being the reason Tammy came on loan from Chelsea. Hilarious.........but tbf out of 65 signings Junior was bound to get a few right........or was it Ashton......or was it Tinnion ?
I don’t recall anyone giving LJ credit for bringing Tammy to the Gate, we all knew then it was down to Ashton. The success of his loan was down to LJ getting the best out of him, much as it sticks in your throat RP, you can’t deny that.
A friend of mine is a season ticket holder at Chelsea and has contacts behind the scenes. Representatives from different clubs were invited to deliver a presentation to the board to ‘sell’ why Tammy should go to their club. Lee Johnson’s delivery was by far the best and the decision to send Tammy to Ashton Gate was unanimous on that back of LJs pitch.
I just don’t let my personal feelings against someone to obscure the facts. I didn’t particularly like or dislike LJ as player or manager. He was just ok - not brilliant, but we’ve had far worse.
R&W Does this Lammy deal with the Spanish/EU/Gibraltar help you in your quest to live in Gib ? Angelic.....keep the faith
Another foreign policy we can screw up no doubt! It’s come to light that our tax revenues over the next few years will repay the Mauritius national debt whilst surrendering sovereignty
Bristol City should be making Michael Carrick approach ASAP - there are 3 clear reasons https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/t...ol-city-should-make-michael-carrick-approach/
I honestly don’t know at this stage RP. There is a lot of ‘small print’ but the signs are positive - free movement across the border was essential to me. Basically Gibraltar will be in Schengen, so once I’m there and have my ID card I will be able to spend as much time in Spain and Europe as I want. I’ve also just been advised that my job is ‘at risk’ for redundancy. After 20 years - I’d get the maximum payout - 18 months before planning to retire anyway. Perhaps the stars are beginning to align………..
I hope not, I would rather someone else, I’m not sure who, I just would rather we don’t chose Carrick.
Watching this Government surrender the Chagos Islands and the border control of Gibraltar, wait for Argentina to renew their quest for sovereignty of the Falklands On the world stage, in many respects, we are seen as a soft touch
This is a very popular view from the right wing UK political and press wings. However there are fundamental differences between Chagos and Gib: 1. The Chagos residents were not consulted. It was a binary agreement between the UK and Mauritius with no heed paid to the local population. With Gibraltar, no deal would be agreed against the will of the government of Gibraltar, who played an active and equal part in the 4-way talks. 2. The issue of Spanish border checks at the airport and the port in Gibraltar is not new; there is a precedence already here in the UK. French gendarmes operate in London St Pancras, doing border checks on behalf of France for travellers on the Eurostar. This has been in place since way before the Starmer government came to power. 3. Unlike Chagos, Gibraltar sovereignty is unaffected.
The very fact that Spanish Police are involved and can access Gibraltar itself (?) at will seems like a ceding of sovereignty on a British territory ? And the Chagos scenario beggars belief ! It was our territory that we are now paying a foreign country billions of pounds to govern and ignoring the wishes of the inhabitants. In this day and age, it's unreal.
