Good Morning. It's Tuesday 11th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds bracing themselves as battle for Diarra intensifies

Any hopes Leeds have of signing Habib Diarra were dealt a bitter blow last night, as he and his Senegal side ripped apart England at the City ground. Fresh off a stellar season captaining Strasbourg, the 21-year-old midfielder firmly put his crudentials on public view for the World to see, and even netted on the hour mark.

Diarra has thrived under Liam Rosenior at Strasbourg, almost leading the team to European qualification despite pre-season expectations of a relegation battle. His leadership qualities are evident, captaining the side at such a young age. This form has translated to the international stage, where he recently earned his 11th cap for Senegal, marking the occasion with his fourth goal in as many matches.

Reports emerged earlier this week that Leeds had submitted a £22 million bid for Diarra. However, questions lingered regarding the player's interest in a move to Elland Road. He was rumoured to have taken a detour to check out Thorp Arch before meeting up yesterday afternoon with his teammates, 87 miles away at the City Ground.

Convincing Diarra to choose Leeds will require a persuasive argument. The club might need to position itself as a stepping stone, offering Diarra a platform to demonstrate his abilities in the Premier League before potentially moving to a bigger club. A successful period in the English top flight would undoubtedly elevate his profile and attract attention from the European giants he currently aspires to join.

    Leeds eye Frankfurt starlet

Leeds are eyeing Frankfurt's young left-back sensation, Nathaniel Brown, as a potential replacement for Junior Firpo. According to LeedsUnited.news, Brown, who has been described as "brilliant" by Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmoller, has impressed greatly, contributing to 10 goals in 33 appearances. His strong partnership with Kristensen on the left flank has made him a key player for the Bundesliga club.

While the potential transfer fee remains unclear, Frankfurt are likely to demand a significant sum considering Brown's age and burgeoning talent, especially as he is under contract until 2030. The pursuit of Brown emerges amidst cooling rumours surrounding Liverpool's Kostas Tsimikas, suggesting Leeds are exploring multiple options to bolster their left-back position.

Adding another layer of intrigue, Aston Villa's Alex Moreno is available for just £5m. The 32yo (a few days ago) offers a wealth of top flight experience from around Europe, and could well plug the No3 position on the cheap until they have sufficient funds for a top drawer defender. He too has been thrown into the Leeds Utd mix.

    Good morning

Diarra looks promising but there are others we can turn our attention to if need be, we have to remember, the African Nations cup is over the Christmas and New Year period this year. Looking at last years fixture dates, this could possibly mean missing for 7 games if a team makes it to the final and I'm only allowing one week before the first game for the team to get together.

If they have to meet up more than 7 days before then add another 1 possibly 2 games to that.

Off to Scarborough this weekend to see Jake Bugg, Cast and Shed Seven.

That eats up one weekend of the summer.

Cast and Shed Seven were 90's bands. Cast had several top 10 hits, whilst Shed Seven were more of a top 20 band, although did break into the top 10 with "Going For Gold".

Jake Bugg is a singer/song writer from the 2010's. Performed at Glastonbury when he was 16. He's not someone who has troubled the singles charts, but his debut album was no 1, and he's had 4 or 5 top Albums since then.

See jukebox thread for further enlightenment :)

Oakmont is a brutal course, 300yd par 3 included!
I watched a Bryson practice round last week he explains the course very well and scrambled to a par finish.
Rory did a practice round recentley and shot 81.
Will be great to see these extremely talented golfers suffer like we all do.

I kind of lost interest in music during the 90’s and more or less started listening to talkSPORT a year or two after it launched, explains why I don’t know them.

I didn't mind the start of the 90s but towards the middle to end is when I too lost interest. There were too many boy bands, West Life, Five, Boyzone, Backstreet Boys then all the garbage out of Manchester who had an attitude that you wanted to punch in the face, Oasis being the worse.

I used to like both Chris Evans and Chris Moyles on Radio One towards the end of the 90's, I still listen to Evans in the morning on Virgin but I can't stand Moyles now. We hit the year 2000 and I completely switched off to most music in the charts, Pop Idol and X Factor dominating TV it really was a dire time for my ears

Music finished in early nineties. Rap and endless talent programs on tv put the final nail in it. Louis Walsh Simon Cowell etc should be burned at the stake for what they did
