I'm wondering.Being a long way from "home".Ladies pro football.Does it have a lot of fans? I don't honestly think I'd be too interested......
Notice how the camera is always more zoomed in when the Women's FA Cup final is played at Wembley Almost as if they're trying not to show the vast swathes of empty seats...
Its definitely growing, the success of the Lionesses has driven this and whilst I think that it gets more coverage now than its actual popularity suggests it should, the big teams and England do sell plenty of tickets but these are a cheap alternative to attending mens matches. I don't think it well ever seriously compete with mens football no matter how hard the BBC, Sky and TNT try to market it, but the growth cannot be denied and the quality is improving. I also think that the game is much more family friendly than the mens game and that is also encouraging involvement. 12 Million people in the UK watched the womens world cup final last year compared to the 24 milllion who watched the Euros final the year before (both involving England)
Clement Lenglet and Barcelona have come to an agreement about terminating his contract. It's believed that he's now going to rejoin Atletico, where he was on loan. His wages at Barca were apparently something crazy, like £260k pw.
Happy 80th Birthday to Pat Jennings, our best keeper , a real servant to the club and having met him dozens of times a real nice guy
