We are a top 6 club, we got there by our own endeavours, if other clubs fail or are not as good over the season, that is a failure on their parts, I congratulate our coaches and players for their achievment. The records will show Liam Manning has been our most successful coach in the last 10 years, he has moved on, I'm looking forward to the next appointment.
record books will show that without a doubt .. how or why we got there is of no real importance. TOP six is the stepping stone [ well 3rd to 6th is the default ] Prem is the acid test, FIRST PART GETTING THERE second part is actually staying there . or at least becoming a yo yo club for a few years. in all competitions there is always a first and a last with a myriad of placings in between no matter the the competition is often the "better" will have a off day / period and the lesser a the opposite! who would have thought a few years ago Man Utd would be in bottom 5 on points of the prem!
First part i agree with. The second part not necessarily, it depends how you judge success. In terms of highest league position of course, but success can also be judged on lots of other criteria. He’s left us in a worse position than when he joined, others have done the opposite. I hope our next manager/coach can achieve similar, whilst not leaving us in the pickle we’re in now. I accept it’s not all Liams doing, but he has to take his share of the blame.
The pickle we are in is directly controlled by the Lansdowns and BT', Manning worked by their criteria, under their leadership and financial restraints, he left them in a top 6 position and fulfilled Steve Lansdows guidelines. They offered him a contract with a £800k release clause, which he agreed to, it was honoured and the Lansdowns greatfully accepted Norwich money, they are still discussing a possible deal for backroom staff, everything was honourably disharged with all parties happy. It is now up to the dynamic duo to appoint a quality replacement to continue the progress made under Nige and carried on by LM.
It’s the evolving door of modern day football, boring to watch, no loyalty, money talks, yet we still buy our season tickets hoping for better. The facts are Norwich have a war chest to invest in players, we probably have an empty chest!. Who can blame LM. Keep the faith!
And of course we boot out managers that do show loyalty, because they have the audacity to call out the shortcomings of the owners and BT. I suppose they got what they deserved.
How do the betting odds changing mean he’s incoming? Surely anyone that knows who’s incoming wouldn’t be allowed to bet?
Until officially announced it’s not a done deal. With the odds falling that low possibly means will be soon.
OTIB seem convinced, mainly due to a few ITK posters. Hopefully they’ll announce something soon. It’s odd Hogg still hasn’t left either.
rob edwards was 1/3 he didnt arrive? bookies are very clever at manipulating the punter............ 17/20 would you risk £20 to win £17? I wouldnt! but plenty will have! Various bookies have had different odds on a numbe r of "hopefuls that may or may or not even had an interest
Wishful thinking probably, time of the year, they need something to talk about as no football to discuss, it doesn’t seem to be based on anything other than rumours
foreign sed it already. City have done short tall bald greenhorns proper seasoned managers modern manningbore ball and this is foreign and proper foreign not Scot and Irish foreign!!!
Rumour is it that they want a rugby team and it’s out of Newcastle and Bristol. One of the owners was at Bath on Sarurday with SL
What I can gather is they want a rugby club. And it was out of the Bears and Newcastle Falcons. The one who has 51% of Red Bull was spotted last Saturday with SL. They’ve a 10% share in Leeds so they can’t share between clubs under EFL rules. But someone posted a link that says they were decreasing their share in Leeds. So probably a 2 +2 =5 situation, but maybe something in it. Will take a company that big daft enough to match the price he wants for the whole lot.
