Rioting used to be reserved for special occasions. Now we’ve got people attacking migrants, lobbing petrol bombs at police and setting cars alight in Ballymena for some reason.
Alleged crimes by a Romanian family this time. Looks pretty horrific what’s happened there from the brief snippet I watched this morning. Usual story probably of people pretending to care as an excuse to kick off.
Perfectly understandable behaviour, according to some. After all, "Any normal and fair-minded person would have a perfect right to be concerned if a group of Romanian people suddenly moved in next door", to quote Nigel Farage. They also fire-bombed the house of Philipino factory-worker (who was on night shift) with his wife and children inside. Just because they're foreign.
People were rightly given serious sentences for their parts in the anti-asylum seeker riots. Doesn’t seem to have been much of a deterrent.
Major escalation of hostilities in the region. They've killed some pretty top level military brass as well as a load of nuclear scientists. Iran was getting veey close to developing weapons grade uranium and having some nukes built, so this attack will be setting that back for several years maybe. Israel seem to be willing to fight on multiple fronts
Netanyahu self-preservation. He needs to have constant conflict in order to stay in power and out of jail.
He won a vote to avoid dissolving Parliament this week. Good fight to pick if you’re going to pick one.
