I think Acun gets off far too lightly given the numerous gaffs that he's overseen. Thinking that Shota would get us to the top end of the table was ****ing bonkers. Or that he would've hired Emre, it's mental that he was even considered. IMO he's a complete basket case and is leading us to ruin. I think in his own way his heart is in the right place, I don't think he is spiteful like it felt the Allams were at times. But people seem to not want to critise him out of some kind of misguided attitude that he's a bit dim or something, I find it really odd. His track record of decisions and spending is outrageous, but by virtue of simply not being Ehab people still love him.
McKenna seems to be liked by the Brentford lot, although they’ve probably got people lined up to cover for people lined up in case their 4th choice isn’t available for whatever reason.
We’re almost half way between the end of the season and our first announced pre season friendly and we still don’t officially have a manager. Why does everything take so long?
I've defended Acun loads of times on here. Happy to explain why as well... I'll start by saying this - He's not exempt from criticism. He has made mistakes. There are elements of how the club is run that I personally don't agree with. He's made things chaotic. His ego is definitely at play, for better and for worse. Last summer was a complete disaster. Right now we need some big improvements to get us back on an upward trajectory, whether anyone THINKS he's capable of doing that or not, we don't know yet. Your point however, is that some people won't criticise him. I don't think that's remotely accurate. The actual problem is that some of the posters on this forum clearly hate him regardless. They're constantly (to the point of tedium) taking shots at the guy. It's like delirium at this point and some of it is proper playground tier **** as well. Some of it is completely baseless or pure conjecture. Then, when other posters are a bit more sensible about it, or if they disagree, or suggest it's over the top, or if they're willing to see how things play out first, they're labelled as 'boot lickers' and such. Why, to many, does it have to be as black and white as 'for' or 'against' the owner? He's got some things right and some things wrong, but I've seen far more posters on here denying what he's done right than denying what he's done wrong. Look at it this way; if Acun sends the club to the ****ter you can probably imagine it at least unifying the fanbase. He'll get rinsed by one and all. But if Acun gets us promoted and privately funds the cure for cancer, to some he'll still be a ****. The CONSTANT criticism is unnecessary and I'll happily try and provide some balance where I feel it's needed - ie; if people are making **** up or making wild assumptions. In summary, I don't think there's a crowd of people 'letting him off lightly'... It's more people firefighting the cesspit of posts getting carried away with trying to paint Acun as the worst owner a club could have, which to be honest, isn't at this point true.
Any criticism I level at him comes nowhere near 'hate'(horrible ****ing word) and to be brutally honest,I don't think anyone else on here goes that far either?? He gets criticism from some and doesn't from others, that's life,no need to go to extremes and turn it into something it clearly isn't.
I never said you hated him. Seems clear to me that some of our fans and on the forum can't wait to see him fail though. If we're talking about avoiding extremes I'd refer to accepting Acun's had some wins and some losses rather than just losses and disassociating him from the wins.
You said some of the posters on this forum "clearly hate him regardless" and I'm querying that because I simply don't think that exists? Like/dislike,yes,he's dividing opinion but "Hate"? As far as I'm concerned he's a patronising bullshitter and he's taken the Club backwards,I can't be arsed listening to his waffle any more...That's me,we're all different
