I'm sure there will also be a couple of departures to make space generate transfer funds. Might not be our top players, but certainly one or two from the first team squad. The likes of Longstaff & Willock getting a few mentions in the media. Now might be the right time to cash in - so long as we replace them.
Willock needs to be moved on. Injury prone and will never recapture his previous form. Longstaff - Will do a good job for someone like Everton or Leeds
As long as it's none of the starting XI and they are replaced adequately - pretty much any of the second XI could be moved on without much trouble.
Can’t see us buying Elanga and Pedro especially if we want Guehi and Trafford. That would be around £200M
PSR is finished anyways. Clubs can sell assets to themselves and circumvent PSR rules. Sell the women's team for £100 million. That buys us two top players.
Interesting piece in the Chronicle this afternoon suggesting Target could be used as a cash + player offer to get the price down on Guehi from the £50m mark. Graham Bailey also suggesting Pedro could be less than the £60m quoted as Brighton have played down the fall out from his bust up with Van Hecke and they want to sell. If you could get Guehi for £40m+ Targett, Pedro for £50m, Elanga for £40m and Trafford for £30 that's £160m - then any other sales on top to boost the coffers (Willock/Longstaff, Lascelles, Krafth/Trippier, Dubravka/Odysseas all will struggle to see much game time next year) - could be doable. Could even look at a loan with obligation for next summer to get a deal done for Elanga or Pedro potentially if things are tight and wait for the CL money to roll in.
Meh. Makes no odds. We just need to get our ducks in order and gets some in over the summer. I am sure they will get the deals done we need. And if they don’t. Then well that’s life.
A bit random but I went to a place called Stanley Today. I'm sure one of you lot is from that place? I've been all over the town including walker and christ knows here else and I have never seen a worse place that stanley. I would rather live in a tent in the wood.
The Targett to Palace story is particularly amusing. Like Palace are going to give him £80k a week to be injured constantly.
