Sign him up…. Norway boss: Ajer needs a new club Norway manager Stale Solbakken has told Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer to find a new club. The 27-year-old played 24 times for the Bees in an injury-hit Premier League season, starting just twice under Thomas Frank since the March international break. Ajer did play twice for Norway in the June international break, playing in both World Cup qualifier wins over Italy and Estonia - keeping clean sheets in both. “He can be a very good and stable centre-back, and he was [against Estonia], but he has to change clubs,” Solbakken said. “He cannot play right-back in every third game if he is to be a proper, safe and good centre-back. Because he has all the prerequisites. “I think Ajer would have been better suited to playing centre-back in another league. He has had some tough injuries in England. “He will never be a super right-back, at the same level as he is as a centre-back. At the age he is now, I think he is allowed to put his foot down. You can’t be a ‘cover’ right-back at his age now. “Many people get angry with me when I say things like that publicly, but I think we should be a little honest about it. “Not that I’m going to interfere with Brentford selling him, but he’s at an age and is a type of player who can develop into a very stable, good defender at a high level.”
A good age with loads of experience! Played in the CL for Celtic and regularly in the PL for Brentford
absolutely nobody I just don’t think he’s worth more than £10m. We might have to pay more but we’d be getting better. obviously I can’t say this with certainty as I can’t name anybody myself. I’m just reluctant to spend big on someone like him versus somebody with serious upside. Especially if they’re going to be keeping Rigg out the side, I want them to be a step change in improvement.
Yeah definitely want someone who changes us as a team, I do think he's probably the most premier league suited player left from last seasons championship teams. I'm sure we can find someone.
He doesn't. People just need to understand what he's saying and not make lazy comparisons. What next? "If you don't want to be compared to your brother, then you shouldn't play for England." He's his own man. Judge him on his own merits. That's the message. It's that simple.
Grealish will be on something like £250k per week won’t he? We don’t have a prayer. I know we have to think bigger now we’re in the premier league but we also do need to remember we’re “just” in the premier league. There’s levels. We need to become an established PL club and even then we’d have to stretch to be able to afford someone like Grealish
Na definitely tongue in cheek that one. You never know with Speakman mind He’d be ****ing idolised here, but wages alone just impossible.
