Went above my head, perhaps because I came in half way through. they were discussing PSR on TS today an export called Stefan. Seems Chelsea have got around PSR by buying Chelsea ladies for £250 million ?? (someone please feel free to correct this). They then went on to say that Villa are in trouble with FA and UEFA fair play rules Newcastle with FA rules and they could buy Villa or Newcastle ladies for £100 million and be on the right side. Thy also said Barcelona exceeds the UEFA PSR by £289 million and the initial fine was going to be £80K but they deemed that unfair so raised it to £500k.
A bit of a reality check for those who expect us to compete financially whilst charging some of the lowest prices in the Championship. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/wrexham-ryan-reynolds-championship-owners-35366986
Times change, sorting through junk the other day I found a City training top in size large, Avec with the Hincliffe badge on it, it's massive on me, and I'm no slim Jim. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Isn’t the current state of play that owners wealth means nothing now. Stoke’s owners are some of the wealthiest but can’t invest. Matchday revenue also doesn’t move the needle too much nowadays. Say if City lined their pricing with Norwich. An average ticket price of 31 quid say. 20 quid tickets will generate City about £9.5m in revenue over a year 31 quid based on City’s attendances would £15.3m In the grand scheme of it £4m give or take just doesn’t effect things at this level due to the imbalance with parachute payments.
There was a BBC story about this a couple of months back. Chelsea sold the women's team for somewhere approaching £200m which kept their heads above PSR water, as they've had massive losses due to transfer fees and no Champions League money. You're only allowed to lose £105m over a 3 year period, and the sale of the women's team saw them turn a £128m profit for 23/24. In 22/23 they lost £90m, and this was AFTER selling a couple of hotels for about £75m. In 21/22 they lost 121m. 90+121-128 = 82m loss across the 3 years, so within the allowed losses, but who did they sell the hotels and the ladies team to? BlueCo, which is a separate company owned by..... Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. Bent AF
The man this morning went onto say, that the value of Chelsea ladies was based on an 'expectation' of a huge surge in the women game to rival where the mens game is now, and the calculation was based on a value in 2050!@!@!...
