Yeah, decent. Gave the goal away Russell Martin style and then looked shell shocked for the next ten. We look good on the ball but City play like Pep’s lot. Lots of possession. And now it is 2-0.
Very reluctant to cross the ball. That play before the whistle was criminal. Bragg and Moore look good. Larios poor.
Max Alleyne looks the best player. I was just watching England U17 the other day and Heskey’s other son was playing for them. The Heskey City are playing today looks better.
As usual the Club short changes the Under 21's by not allowing their best player to do what he is good at because he might feature in a meaningless fixture at the week-end.. Just par for the course.
It's meaningless to the fans, but not to an 18 year old trying to push himself into the first team squad. Much bigger than the u21s in front of an empty stadium.
It's meaningless to every other player though, that much is clear from the performance last week. It will be nothing more than a glorified friendly.
If they had real desire in winning this game they could have put Dibling up front with Ballard, that might have been productive.
What do the u21s get for winning this game? Says PL2 playoff so I assumed the winner gets promoted PL1, but why are City in the PL2 when they have such a strong academy? If it’s just a trophy then nobody cares about u21 trophies, pretty sure every player would take a chance in the first team over playing tonight. Can understand if there was a promotion involved to play a strong team otherwise who cares, results don’t matter at all at u21 level
I care, it was chance to get something out of this crappy season and just like everything else, they blew it.
Man City were far superior. Their players were stronger, fitter, faster, more skillful. It would annoy me, but seeing as they are all English (bar one), I'm actually pleased to watch them. Left back (Mfuni?) Only 17, going to be a top, top player. And Mukasa, also 17, also that good. Could say the same of half a dozen others. For us, some decent players (Bragg, the CBs), but some shockers too. Abu is atrocious. Terrible player.
Does seem odd Cleverly was there, appreciate it’s a reasonably big game so maybe just attending because. Maybe he’s in the frame for some role at City. He might be interested in taking some kind of coaching role with their B team to try and learn under Pep. He’s not going to be taking the Saints B team manager job
