Well played by the boys today, i thought they battled hard for 95mins against a Fulham team that thankfully didnt turn up until the 60th minute !!

    Key points from today for me were ;

    1. Ref was poor to average again, and no way was that a penalty.
    2. We had our goal keeper to thank for the win, other parts of his game arnt amazing but his shot stopping is one of the best in the prem league.
    3. The change of line up worked, Luke moore did very well in the middle and routeledge put in more crosses in one game than dyer has in five. !!
    4. Jazz Richards is getting better and i thought he was very unlucky with the penalty,he looked more comfortable on the ball, but still growing into the position.
    5. Brenden got the subs bang on today, something that i feel he doesnt always do very well, the bench looks better with Routeledge and Moore starting,i feel these boys enjoy the confidence a starting birth gives them.
    6. Kemy looks fit and made a good impact on the game.
    7. DG did well for his goal, though how he messed up the first one ive no ide !!

There is also plenty of food for thought, in the second half Fulham looked like they could have put about 5 past us!! the boys got a bit touchy and started dropping too deep again!! we were lucky to come away with the win,if we lose our bottle and keep dropping off, teams like Fulham will crucify us.

Luke moore was calling for the ball alot today when he was in space in the hole, instead of getting a nice crisp pass the ball went square or backwards! sort it out guys please!! Luke made himself available and has the strength and touch to hold onto it, we must pass quicker in the final 3rd !!

I think the selection today is one that we can build from i would drop Lita for DG and maybe even Gower for Kemy, Gower has to be the most frustrating player ive ever watched!! does 1 good thing then 1 stupid thing!!

Well done to the Swans though, there was massive pressure coming into this game,it was a 6 pointer no matter what anyone says, it was definatly a game we had to win and we did that so credit to the players and manager, first 3 pts away next week please ;)

Well I had us down for a 2-0 win on Scott's match day thread, so I'm happy!! agree with your post match observations Norway, and the one that is critical for me, is Moore's frustration with the service, and we'll have to work on that quick decisive first pass, I thought that Moore was deserving of MOTM, until Vorm saved that penalty, so I am voting Vorm as MOTM, and an honorary mention for Routledge, who is really starting to impress me, great game and full credit to Fulham for coming to play proper football, by the way the Ref was poor!....................

I had a big argument with Aussie regarding Moore, when i said he was going to make an impact and has more to offer than dobbie he thought i was mad! its only 2 games for Luke and ive made the point on other threads that people keep mentioning dobbie and the fact he hasnt had enough minutes to impress, but Luke Moore has had less!! he has took his chance and long may it continue, ive said from the start that moore has immense talent i hope he can find consistancy to go with the talent, one swallow doesnt make a summer but its encouraging to see him perform when called upon.

The ref gave us nothing at all, ive watched the penalty again and to me Jazz just looks like he stood his ground, his back was also turned away from the player im not a ref but i wasnt aware that the defender has to jump out of the way of the attacking player ??

Fulham didnt turn up until the 60th min and thank god !! they looked dangerous when they fancied it !!

Thought we defended well as a team today front to back. Must say was impressed with Agustine when he came on. Thought Moore had a tidy game as well.

Have to agree about the ref very poor, thought Lita was pulled down for a pen, even the fella on Sky said it was a pen, and he gives a foul against Lita, what a plonker!! Great result now up to 11th and onto Newcastle. Got my tickets and looking forward to it. Onwards & Upwards!!!!

Yes the ref was quite bizzare wasnt he! Doesnt give the Nailed on penalty for Lita getting man handled yet couldnt wait to blow the whistle when their lad fell over Jazz Richards who did nothing but stand his ground, does make you wonder sometimes, i noticed also that they had free kicks for stuff that we never got. Still gutsy win in the end !

Like to see Kemy for Gower next game and maybe DG for Lita, keep moore and routeledge in the starting line up and return allen to the bench to remind him how stupid he was to get sent off against Blackburn ;)

I'm sorry but it was a stonewall penalty. I sit in the West in the away fan corner so was right on top of it. The guy skinned Richards just as he puts his foot where the ball was milliseconds before. Watch MOTD and you will see I'm afraid.

We didn't deserve to draw anyway Fulham were crap before we scored and we weathered the storm for the 10 minutes after our first goal quite well.

Jazz was facing away from the player when he went past,he held his ground and didnt move to obstruct the player having seen it a few times now i find it hard to see how the ref can give a penalty for nothing in particular especially as he didnt give anything for Lita being man handled, if that was the standard he set himself (the ref) then i find it bizzare that he thinks Jazz was guilty of foul play !!

Not that it really matters now mind !! <laugh>

Fulham found an extra gear when they went a goal down and despite us dropping back deeper and trying to get everybody but one man behbd the ball gave us a bit of a lesson in how to work the ball forward through and get people the ball in and around the box. We need to watch how they were doing that because I damned if we can do it.

Great penalty save by Vorm ... And having seen the replays upteen times Jazz did shift backwards enough to make contact.

Good comments above about Moore and our absolute stubborn refusal to play the ball forward to a player coming into space with the ability to receive and hold/turn with the ball facing the wrong way. This makes the air turn blue whenever I'm watching it.

Augustine did look the part when he came on. For next week I have to go with Kemy instead of Gower. I'm not source I'd swap graham in for Lita, but it could do no wrong. Allen's going to be the issue - start him over Moore or keep Moore in. If it wasn't for too many changes I'd be inclined to put Allen in for Leon and keep Moore in. Oh well, it's fun to manage from the armchair.

BTW. Caulker in for Monk directly and Williams captain. Bold move and the correct one I think. Says everything that needs to be said about Caulker's ability and Monk's.

Monk had a mare at Blackburn. I think a lot of Monk he's a Jack through and through but for me it has to be Caulker every day, no wonder Spurs don't want to sell him.
Worried about Moore today but needn't have been I thought he did well, Routledge was tremendous and would
Have been my MOM if it wasnt for Vorm. Dyer needs a rest anyway and Routledge didn't disappoint

Yankee- I would definatly start with moore next game, allen can stay on the bench and give us an option if needed. i liked the way we played with moore behind the striker i wouldnt be upset if Lita started instead of Graham but i do think Moore playing with kemy might give us that freshness in the final 3rd that we lack. Kemy played some nice balls he tends to look for the forward pass and seemed to realise that the quick ball is the best one sometimes !!

I think if we start with Kemy and moore it could be a good combination,it will also add a bit of height to the side which is not a bad thing.

The penalty having seen it a few times i can see what your saying with his slight movement backwards but how the ref could have seen the same thing ive no idea !! i thought it was a very harsh penalty to give especially as Lita had no change from the ref earlier !

Most of us are in agreement about Monk, how we managed as long as we did with him in the team ive no idea, lucky we wernt exposed alot more while he was in the defence!

Caulker was a bit rusty today but that was understandable, Monk did his best but we look more acomplished with caulker in the team, Jazz will hopefully keep learning and improving, as i said earlier, i thought he was unlucky to that penalty against him today :)

Norway ... Agree with you on the harshness of the penalty against Jazz, especially after the mugging of Lita that was given as a foul by him in the first half.

Also Kemy's shot off the post was a sublime strike - deserved so much better.

Great comments and all makes sense lads... Especially agree with the inconsistency of the Ref, it did appear that Fulham could do no wrong in his eyes.....

sinclair was more effective in a more central position with a goal to prove it, we should play him there instead of on the wing where i think he will score a lot more goals, i think Richards is unfortunately out of his depth in the premiership, he tries very hard i know but we do need better. maybe if we can get him a championship team to take him on loan he may improve as we cant afford to play him all the time ourselves as we cant take the risk. i thought moore was outstanding and deserves more game time and Lita also,.....we must not get above ourselves as its just one win that vorm was the saviour, it was a wonderful save that kept us in the game as fulham was starting to get on top at that time.....what we are desperate for now is our first away win to cement our chances of staying up as its so close with not many points seperating 8th to bottom and a good run is a must just to put a bit of day light in our favour.....great win..

deep end yes and thats my point ...he is not up to the job and it showed at times....he could do with going out on loan somewhere in the championship where he can learn his trade a bit better. we cant afford to carry passengers after january when things get much harder, i hope we sign a defender of quality not so much for the home matches but for our dreadful away form that leak goals like crazy.......
