Pretty pointless either way tbh. If the hungry players smash them 10-0 everyone will just say “haven’t learnt anything it’s only Andorra”. Makes more sense to play a team of players who are likely to be in the next squad so they get a bit more time playing together in a system and trying to break down a defensive opponent
Hang on, I thought we were going to be brilliant now Southgate isn't holding us back... Just maybe he wasn't the issue. People will soon realise how good a job he did.
Er......no. Regardless of what happens with Tuchel Southgate very much was an issue. Today was poor but it means very little. Tuchel will be judged next summer.
To be fair, I think there’s a whole lot of over reaction. Yes we were sloppy, and and a tad ponderous at times. However on Another day and the ball falls cleanly in the box, it just always felt a yard off. Andorra were physical, they were leaving the boot in a lot, going into tackles hard. Our players seemed to become less up for the confrontation and just got frustrated. I will leave comparing him to Southgate until we play decent teams in a knock out tournament At the end of day, 3 points is all that matters.
2nd best England manager of all time. I think it will become clear how good he actually was over time as we head back to no longer being competitive in tournaments.
Brentford have been magnificent under Frank and this will likely prove pivotal. Loosing the manager and certain players have already been linked with a move and I'm sure there will be a couple Frank would like to take with him. Years of hard work could be picked to pieces in one summer
He did a good job. It was those big stakes games where his tactics let him down - look at that final against Italy.
Was weird complaining about lads playing in the Club World Cup and then playing them in this. At least they would have gotten some rest missing this and the game against Senegal.....Senegal were poor against Ireland. Rested a good few players but ultimately lucky to get a draw. Was a good bit of bite in it and a decent tempo for a June friendly. Smallbone was good. Manning did alright playing a lot higher up the pitch than usual
Liechtenstein are poor and, to be fair I know it sounds mean, but goodness me Adams scores past them, instead of ballooning it over the bar or shooting straight at the goalie or wacking it just past the post when it was easier to put it between them. I have never been so peed off with a Saints forward in many a year when he played for us.
I respect all referees to be fair; takes a lot of guts to do that job. Doesn't mean I like them very much, or think they're any good
I see that Crystal Palace might be denied entry into the Europa League competition because one of their owners (43% ownership) is also the owner of Lyon who have also qualified for the same competition. UEFA rules state that no individual can have a significant say in the running of two clubs in the same UEFA tournament, so Palace will need to persuade UEFA that a 43% shareholder isn’t significant. The decision will be made by the end of June. edit. Just looked and it appears that Textor is the majority shareholder with 45% (not the 43% I quoted above), so he clearly does have a significant say in the running of the club. John Textor (45%) Josh Harris (10%) David Blitzer (10%) Steve Parish (10%) Textor owns 77% of Lyon.
Textor is not very popular with the Palace ultras either due to his involvement with Lyon whose ultras are right-wing while those of Palace profess to be left-leaning.
