That was a good night

 

I can remember the two European Cup Winners Cup games in the 1973/74 season. The cost to stand in the Roker End doubled from 50p to £1.
That caused some discussion, I can tell you.

 

Now that Jonny Evans has retired next year will the first time in 50 years they have had no player in the squad coached by Alex Furguson.

Weird one, I called bollocks when my mate told me. But it is to do with Albiston having been there 12 years when he arrived.

Fergie must be angry at the state of that club now. Never in a million years would he have allowed it to come to this if he was gaffer. The likes of Ratcliffe would have been left terrified by him.

I much prefer Man Utd to Liverpool. But they have ripped the heart out of that club while Liverpool have found theirs again. Night and day.

Amorim doesnt seem anywhere near what Man U need. Not even close. They need someone absolutely hell bent on success at all costs. Conte would be perfect, they need a standards based coach. Inzaghi would be a shout as well. That whole club needs a personality that dominates its every level, and it has to be a football person.

have just read that 'her anal' has been appointed Sports Director of Newcastle United...is this a wind-up, a recent (today) app or was it ages ago and i missed it?

however i felt about him as a player i always thought he was pretty fair on MotD but to be placed in charge of finding potential transfers he really needs to lose his bias, he does seem the type to refuse to let things go and he had a few problems with a few clubs along the line i think...there again, i remember when he was given the managers job, hope he has much the same success with this job.

 

But back then I've heard with a quid you could go for a skin full, busy, fish and chips on the way home and buy a house and still have change.
