He's very good in a counter attacking team, extremely quick. I wouldn't say he's going to unlock many low blocks though.
I'm not talking about that mate I'm talking about the fact a 16 year old kid with a games console would know our signings were good players already. It leads me asking myself what is the point of having scouts and a recruitment team? because in the end they pay top rates for players other clubs already discovered. We should be discovering some ourselves and playing them from time to time, surely? It's a recipe for disaster....we barely sign anyone that's not proven and if we do Howe will never use them.
It's a recipe that's kept us in the PL, seen us qualify for the CL twice in three years and got us a trophy. Quite a tasty little recipe that, to be honest No, whilst I agree it would be reassuring if we were landing the odd Huijsen, we've chosen to spend our funds where we have and we've been hugely successful with those choices.
Know the name, not seen much about the lads game. I hope he does well but usually there’s some noise about half decent kids coming through like Shahar!
I don't think it'll happen because he'd cost way more than that. Newcastle buying prem players when their stock is high is actually insane. Would I object? No because I think he's a good player, but It'll be annoying when psr bites again and people moan about no signings for 2 years.
Possibly not, because players like Isak will sadly likely reach the point where they want to try something new in the next year or two. At which point we will sell for truly vast profits. Our signings have been excellent, and other than the older recruits have almost universally increased dramatically in value. Isak, Bruno, Tonali and possibly Gordon are all £100m+ players now. Livramento and Hall would likely be pushing close to £80m. Botman would be close to that too if he could stay fit. As we have such a high success rate with our signings, I would say that the weight of evidence points towards our scouting and recruitment team being excellent.
So - and this is if rumors are to be believed - we've had a punt on Mbuemo, Delap and Huijsen. Our favored targets are Trafford (who we bid for last year), Guehi (who we bid for last year), Elanga (who we bid for last year) and possibly Zabarnyi (wanted by PSG). It's like Chaos says, our "scouting" is as if a child watched some YouTube videos or played FC25. I read somewhere we're "furious" about Saudi tax. Yet we're shopping exclusively in the Premier League! Again, I understand it's early June and there's ages and - as if often the case - I could be eating my hat, words and my own bullshit in two months time but our recent track record is.....left wanting. For me it's about the scouts and Andy Howe, can't we ask exactly what the **** he does for a living?!
We will have to agree to disagree. It would be better to avoid it by using the scouts and believing in them in general. They could be replaced with inferior players. It's my opinion that the recruitment team will be putting names fwd that are being refused.
Nickson will be next out I think.... There's been a willy waving contest and one set is getting bolder and more power thirsty. Both sets as bad as each other more than likely.
Players can get injured and clubs have to fill the squad as best as possible within psr regulations. If Wilson is a 3rd choice and he's on a low salary, then it's simply wise work. These guys are paid for a potential emergency situation occuring.
