Or is he a future great. Methinks the former but hope I'm wrong.

I am not adverse to signing Delap, he looks like he may be a decent striker, definitely very Diego Costa-Esque and he is young and, lets face it, dirt cheap for a striker these days.
Not sure I would like him as our main choice striker though, I will be happier if we signed an Osimhen or someone else alongside him.
Lets not forget that Jackson was pretty much our only senior striker last season, so there is definitely room for another one alongside Delap in my view.

He’s an upgrade on Jackson, should improve with a better team behind him, but as yet NOT the 20 + goal striker we need to compete against the best. That’s Oshimen or Gyokes, and we seem incapable of buying either.
OR, maybe we will and sell Jackson??

The words of Alan Shearer. "I think he's a bit old-fashioned. He's like a throwback from what a centre-forward was 20, 30 years ago when they were all in fashion. Aggressive, horrible to play against, doesn't mind mixing it up, can run in behind. Obviously scores goals. The number of goals he scored in a really struggling team that is only going to get better."

"I think at his age, with the ability he's got now, I think he's got a really bright future. I would have liked to have seen Newcastle get him, but for whatever reason, he's decided to go to Chelsea. I think that's a really smart move for them."

Hope he’s right, and that seems about the state of things.
My concern is if we play Marescas’mogodon ball, he’ll spend all game facing backwards looking for the ball.
With more pace and directness he should go well. Let’s hope he can be the one to connect the back to the front and not finish up near the corner flag.
