Bloke sat next to me in the coffee shop reading a paper copy of The Guardian. Fortunately not many of them left. Morning.
My grandfather was a daily reader. Old school Socialist Tony Benn fan rather than whatever you’d think of today of your average leftie. Think he’d be quite sad about the state of things today and he ducked out of this world at about the right time before the big economic crash and all the **** that has followed since. Then again it would have been nice if he’d hung on to see Spurs win the League Cup.
Will be honest, I often look at the Guardian if I'm searching for a story. I enjoy their layout and it's always easy to read. Yet I can't stand people like Rachel Shabi, I can't even watch her on the newspaper reviews, I detest her, if I see her or that other twat Adam Boulton on the newspaper reviews it gets turned off. It's good the Guardian is still free, it's probably one of the few papers that I would pay for if I had to choose publications. I don't have to agree with it's views, but I've never been one for reading stuff just because it aligns with my thinking, it's about challenging ones own mind for me. So that's intended as good sentiment towards your grandfather. Yeah shame he never saw the Cup win...
Hopefully your granddad and Tony Benn are on the picket line in the sky, along with my old dad (who died last year).
Looked like it was going to be a nice morning so did an hour along the coast in the weighted vest. Pissed down for most of it. Presenting some nonsense slides I don’t care about to people I don’t care about to hopefully win some business I barely care about in London later. Morning
Round the corner pretty much from Buckingham Palace and it’s resembling ****ing Calais with the number of homeless people about. Security guard on the door at Maccies. Best city in the world.
