Critchley's managerial CV is far from inspiring. Just the sort Tan will chose. Overriding factor - Cheap. And just seen, represented by Wasserman, the committee's advisor.
Or his reluctance to give up playing which would impact on his aim to be involved in the quest to be involved in Wales’ World Cup ambitions?
That's exactly to what I was referring. Apart from being an expensive drain on the overall squad budget, selecting himself ahead of others in order to gain match fitness for Wales would not go down too well. Realistically, aspirations to play for Wales would depend upon him finding another club and play regularly for them because the word is he's not being offered an extension to his current playing contract with City beyond it's June 30th expiry.
Thank god is contract is up,should not have put him on the sort of money he was getting i was all for pay as you play but our stupid management who know nothing about football did the worse thing possible. And as for getting our new manager forget Jones and just pick someone anyone get the tea lady if she will accept, just get someone in before the season starts please.
I can only assume there is some hard negotiating going on over Jones. All the other apparent candidates other than double barrell from Leicester (and his status could change soon) are all out of contract so no inter club negotiations needed. The only other grey area is Rambo who has a playing (I say that laughingly) contract to 30th June but for the sake of all I hope our esteemed club management don't go for him.
Correct Bluey. If any of the other candidates were the first choice then they'd have been signed up and installed in the job by now. This is all about Jones and City coming to an acceptable financial arrangement with Charlton. Only when that is dead in the water through one of the involved party's intrangidence over the cash/compenastion settlement will City move on to a second choice. Just how soon that will be is anyone's guess.
Latest at 5.30pm - Rambo gone odds on with Jones hanging in there despite the negative reports. Buckingham and Evatt drifting out, both of whom are on Plymouths shortlist. please log in to view this image
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/c...wist-emerges-brian-barry-murphy-aaron-ramsey/ This might explain why both gentlemen are the current favourites. It could be someone else tomorrow.....
First thing this morning - Rambo moving clear odds on @ 2/5, but Jones still in there moving into sole second favourite....... please log in to view this image
Getting tedious now. Not your updates, sparkey, but the lack of progress. I know the names and acociated odds are the bookies doing, but the shortlist of 3 is a moving feast. If we don't nail the no 1 choice soon, nos 2 and 3 will be away and gone. And the board will still be pontificating. If there is a block on choice 1, give it to choice 2 and be done. At least we can move forward then.
Begs the question why not before now? He's been there all the time - why faff about for 3 weeks unless he wasn't first choice? If it is Rambo, wait for the DoF announcement to go with it - I can't imagine Rambo being given total control.
Hey Hilts. I'm not arguing the merits of the candidates, just the process. If the long list and shortlist is full of duds, that's a different problem. I did a number of supplier selections over the years. You started with a list of criteria. The criteria were weighted as to what was most important. Then you scored candidates against criteria. If a criterion was cheapness and it was weighted a 10, but football ethos and developing youngsters were criteria weighted a 1, then it may explain a lot. The other issue for us is we don't know who is on the short list, just rumour and bookies odds. Are Evatt and Buckingham 2 and 3 on the list? Is Jones first choice? Who knows other than Tan, Dalman and Choo. I doubt even Wasserman knows. They might know the 3 put forward, but that doesn't mean Tan will have taken heed of that list.
Jones out of the running. Just signed new long term deal. Ever get that feeling you've been used??? Can't blame the guy for making the most of our interest I suppose???
I read earlier there was a possibility of him signing a long term deal. Instantly sprung to mind that we were being used as a negotiating chip.
Funnily enough as of a minute ago, you can still have a bet on him........ please log in to view this image
