Things going well for the promoted sides so far with Bournemouth, Wolves and Brentford all losing key players. Don’t recall any of the established sides losing anyone last year to the extent that those three have. One of them could finish below a promoted side if they don’t get recruitment right
Yeah Brentford obviously are a decent side with no real superstars. On paper they always look weak to me, but I don’t watch them enough so I’m sure most of their players are all solid at PL level with a couple of better performers thrown in like Mbuemo. Even with the players who have left the promoted sides are still far worse than any of the established teams. Long time left in the window though. If someone offered me 100/1 on any of the promoted sides to survive I don’t think I’d take it
Well it's quite clearly more likely than that. I personally think people are getting carried away with this 'impossible to stay up with PSR' stuff and have a feeling one of the promoted sides will stay up this Summer. Think all 3 will be relatively competitive too compared to this season.
Yeah it’s more likely but I still think it’s a long shot. The summer has got off to the perfect start for them though with what has happened to teams they should be targeting to finish above. Looking at Leeds’ team and I don’t think many of their players would get in our side and look how **** we were
Struggling to see how Burnley and Sunderland will do well personally. Burnley about to lose 2 of their best players in Brownhill and Trafford. Sunderland are 100% worse than any of the 3 who went up last year.
Some of the fees Bournemouth are getting are enormous. But what surprised me is that for most of who they are selling they paid far more than I realised. I’m stunned they have never been hit by PSR but I guess they have to sell this summer They seem to have signed many many more players for around 20m plus than we have - in our entire history. Which I think is probably the reason why they are where they are and we are where we are. We were trying for too long to be clever in the 10-15m bracket rather than the next bracket up. And it backfired Doesn’t seem like Bournemouth have had too many duds in the bracket they’ve been shopping in but I’m not following closely. But they seem like they will get 50m+ for all three of the defenders that are going. Likely similar or Semenyo. And a lot for Kluivert as well slightly wild that they with their tiny ground have so many high priced signings including a record one that is close to double ours. But again - perhaps they’ve pushed it and now have to sell and will only be reinvesting a fraction. Or I could be wrong and all the sales could be 50m plus and all the replacements 30m plus and they are in a whole new market again
I thought Wolves were mostl likely last season, but they fixed their manager after a terrible start and have a match winner in Cunha. In reality it took us a good 5 seasons of mistakes, from bad managerial appointments, to poor recruitment to go from Europe to Relegation. I would say Wolves, Fulham and West Ham are probably a bad management change from a spot of bother.
Hilarious. Though if true I would use the transfer as leverage for a couple of players on loan from them this season.
I do get the impression that THB is highly rated in football, think he’ll be off this summer for a similar fee to what we paid. Like your idea about getting a loan from Chelsea. No chance it’s Ugochukwu but someone else, they have plenty of options
Not filled with confidence if he’s going to be a free agent. Is that because Hearts don’t rate him to renew his contract?
He is still receiving a salary that probably all of us could only dream off. He should have been a professional and worked his arse off to help his team and the fans.
