So, following another post on the other poll thread, the following ex players were listed that we could bring back to make UEFA guidelines on HG.

Tim Krul, Fraser Forster, Freddie Woodman, Kevin Mbabu, James Tavinier, Matty Longstaff, Elliot Anderson, AdamArmstrong and Andy Carroll

We really need at least 2 of these.

    Pick 2.

I'm ruling out of being able to choose Elliot Anderson because that would be a no brainer. Though if the rumors of a buy back clause is true then get him in now.

We need none. It makes no sense. There is no obligation.

We need players to sit on the bench and not get played in the CL? I dispute the very premise of this poll and refuse to participate!

We currently have 5 keepers and previously under Eddie Howe we had 4. At least one of these is only really for training exercises/ training ground mentoring for younger players but all are in the squad “just in case”. Because I think Anderson unfortunately is a non starter and the other outfield players aren’t nearly good enough certainly now anyway then you would have to look at the keepers. Even third choice keepers hardly ever play outside of token appearances in the first cup game so really any two from Woodman (unlikely), Forster or Krul are more than capable of being 3rd or 4th choice keepers and would fill two home grown spots.
Another possibility would be to give Joe White a squad place then along with Longstaff we have 4.

I WANT ANDERSON! Gone for Forster and Armstrong as I think Forster has the European experience with Celtic and Spurs while Armstrong covers across the front 3.

Tbh honest though I wouldn't bother with any of them bar Anderson and rather look at players like Shahar, Sanusi, Harrison, Murphy, Neave etc. out of the youth squads to make up the numbers although they don't need to be registered, if we can only register "x" might as well be "x" + youth players to get them around the first team training and match days, travelling etc. Would have said register Turner-Cook but looks like we are releasing him.

A lot will do with who we draw I guess, if we have Ferencvaros, Crvena Zvezda and Salvaia Praha out of pots 3 and 4 you can afford to take a couple of the kids along on the bench and rest a few. If it's Sporting Lisbon, Napoli, Athletic Club and Galatasaray probably not.

Papiss Cisse is still playing and scoring for fun in the Dubai forth tier. He was 40 a few days ago.

Makes no sense to me. Either have a 22 man CL squad, or a 23 man squad with Tim Krul in it. Mind you, Eddie does love two GK's on the bench.....(please God make that madness stop next season)

So a 22 man squad. Means we keep Longstaff. So that's 1 of 8 HG quota. Will we get away with Miley as one? We need at least 2 more

In reality, we don't need any homegrown players in the squad.

We Must submit 2 player lists to UEFA.

    List A
    :
    • Up to 25 players including at least 2 goalkeepers. At least 8 of these players must be locally trained with 4 from each of the following 2 categories:
      • "Club-trained" players are those who were on the submitting club's books for at least three years between the age of 15 and 21.
      • "Association-trained" players are those who where on another club's books in the same association for three years between the ages of 15 and 21.
    List B:
    • An unlimited number of players if they are born on or after 1st January 2004, for the 2025/26 season

Should we not be able to fulfill the 8 homegrown players, for each one we can't register, we lose one squad place.

We easily match the 4 association trained players with Burn, Gordon, Livramento, Pope, Murphy, Barnes, Tripper, Targett, Willock, Longstaff and Lascelles if he has signed the rumoured extension. Hall is young enough that he falls into List B as does Miley

Club-trained players is difficult for us as our academy has produced precious little to move into 1st team football apart from Elliot Anderson & Lewis Miley recently.

Assuming Longstaff leaves, and we don't buy-back Anderson, we only have Joe White who is still on the books and is older than 21 and club-trained.

The reason none of this is a problem, in my eyes, is all that happens is we can only register a 21 man List A (22 with Joe White). I don't see a problem with this. Miley and Hall are already proven at the top level out of the U21's. Maybe we'd need to draft in a Leo Shahar or Alfie Harrison as cover if we hit injuries.Otherwise, we just have a smaller squad. Nothing else bad happens, we don't lose points, get fined or get barred from entry, we just don't have as many options off the bench, which we are very used to already...

We were a dodgy pen call and a Man City clusterfuck away from knockout stages and European qualification with a small injury ravaged squad (basically 13 players) last time out. A squad of 21 would feel like a luxury this time around!

I was comparing to our CL season anyway. 21 decent players that Eddie's doesn't mind playing beats the 13 - 15 he was happy to play last time out
