Last year pre season training started in June 24th. Based on that, we have just 20 days to appoint a new manager, secure any new signings and arrange pre season friendlies! Not the best of starts for life in the third division.
I wonder who is now handling the negotiations for whoever we want? Past experience shows Dalman and Choo show little urgency, maybe having to explain each step to VT? I'm all for doing the research and not rushing into something disastrous but as Irish points out, the clock is fast running down and other clubs are starting to pick up players who could be good for us. We can't afford any further Ugbo or Kanga desperation deals. Whoever is running this, pull your bloody finger out!!!
The notion that City had agreed a deal for Jones with Charlton before their first playoff semifinal is bollucks. If that were true there was no point in setting up the procurement committe of Allen, Chesterfield and Wasserman to sort prospective candidates. The fact is that Tan was impressed by Jones because he already has a good job but still wants to come to Cardiff, whereas all the others are out of work and looking for a job. The enthusiasm and passion displayed by Jones is a driving factor in this and I'm led to believe it's far from over despite the negative vibes at the moment, and a lot of it is being driven by Jones himself.
After exploding on the scene out of nowhere yesterday, Jim Goodwin (whoever he is) has drifted out to 25/1. Only significant move is there's been some money for Barry Murphy this afternoon - in from 6/1 to 4/1 third favourite alongside Jones. Buckingham and Ramsey still lead the pack @ 11/10 and 11/8 respectively.
Stick 50p one of them and see what happens. It'll give an idea of how much money is floating about. Maybe if we all put 50p on masky, we could get him up to favourite.
Glen’s latest ‘scoop’ involved belling Pulis for his take on the current City manager appointment. Rather than give a name he stated the blindingly obvious that City need football expertise on the board, and gives an example at Birmingham. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tony-pulis-tells-cardiff-city-31785862
All change this morning fellas - Barry Murphy now favourite.......Neil Critchley anyone? please log in to view this image
Because of the time it's taking, should we assume that this pitiful shortlist produced by the "transfer committee" for Tan's consideration is now out of the window? New names are being thrown into the ring daily. Maybe it's just to create bookmaker revenue, but perhaps we should expect some "left of field" name like Bulut to get the job.
How about this coach - she sounds like she knows what she is doing? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ckgqpdwp012o I'm sure there's a few retired City players that could still do a job for us in League 1??
What’s the point of employing a team of consultants to make recommendations to Tan if Tan is seemingly going to ignore them? Who knows who the recommendations were or whether they have been approached but rejected or showed no interest. All we fans have got to go on is from bloggers from people allegedly in the know. It’s feasible it will end up with another appointment from within but if is Ramsey surely he knows he will be given support from football advisers such as a DOF.
Apparently Ramsey with a DoF alongside has got a lot of support from inside the club but his reluctance to commit himself to management only appears to be a real problem.
Neil Critchley into 2/1 second favourite and Nathan Jones moves up again.............. please log in to view this image
This is crazy - Aaron Ramsey now in from 4/1 to evens favourite this last 10 minutes.............. please log in to view this image
The intent seemed sound, the execution is the usual crock of $h!t we've come to expect. I appreciate the financial commitment Tan has made, but his belligerent nature on footballing matters has put us in a downward spiral. This will only continue if he doesn't change his ways.
