100%, people forget he was so young - yes he probably should have been rested at times but for a 17/18 yr old playing week in week out for a big club he did very well He scored 7 goals that season which is class He showed enough ability that season and it really helped him kick on this yr
With all due respect I’m not sure you have much of an eye for a player or potential considering you’d nigh on written off Jobe at the start of this season and were adamant that Mayenda was a ‘donkey’ as recently as Christmas (just five months ago).
Agree. Very inconsistent but he was played in I think 5 different positions, was our 2nd top goalscorer and some of the goals he did score were very important, 2 in a 2-1 win over Rotherham, 1 in a 1-0 win over Leeds in particular. I know it doesn't exactly work like this but you could argue that without him he could've gone down. His performances in 23/24 were streets better than some 'experienced' players' in both 23/24 and 24/25. Roberts, Pritchard, Browne in particular.
We haven't sent him back....he's had to go back...his loan is terminated. What happens from here will depend on how much we want him back with us,which could drive up the price, depending on Bournemouth attitude.
I'd still 100% sign Mepham personally. Can do a job in the prem. Brilliant behind the scenes and I think we need to keep as much of the squad from last season as possible, especially if we lose another (which we might).
I know nothing about Uche and think he's a long shot seeing Atletico and other champions league clubs want him. But a 6'3 player who can play as a midfielder OR a forward sounds like the perfect player for the "second striker / number 10" in our 4-4-2 defensive shape.
