Then I wish the EFL would get a move on and sign that piece of paperwork. Surely it doesn't take that long to sign a piece of paper??
The players return in exactly 3 weeks. The transfer window is already open. I cannot ever recall any appointment of a British National Coach being held up by EFL. Who is just f***ing about?
I appreciate what you say but according to the local press in Bristol that has also been agreed but on top of that in most cases the appointment of the Head Coach is made and his staff, often from his old Club, follow a few days later as it is a separate issue. Also if the paperwork is with the EFL the appointment of Manning has been agreed so why the hold up ?
By all appearances, Manning is already working with Knapper, as illustrated in my latest addition to the arrivals thread.
There was something said about Manning being due to go on holiday? Perhaps that is holding up the announcement?
Sorry Suffolk but Head Coaches at Bristol or Norwich do not go on holiday when the transfer window is open or imminent. They go as soon as the season finishes if at all.
PinkUn are saying it will be announced in the next 36 hours. This transfer window is a wierd one, it’s only open for a week or so before closing again and then opening later on in the month.
Another thing that I do not understand. When the transfer window closes the Clubs have a couple of hours to finalise the paperwork as long as the details have already been agreed. As I understand it that is not the situation with the first section of this transfer window so presumably all negotiations on transfers including new deals can continue but the paperwork cannot be submitted until it reopens. What then is the closing of the window supposed to achieve?
"It will initially open on Sunday, 1 June and close nine days later. The early window allows teams participating in the Club World Cup the chance to sign players before the tournament begins."
I understand that but what is the point of it shutting again for 9 days as in practical terms it won't affect anything.
It opened early this year and opens again on the 16th, so it's only closed for 6 days. The big teams rule football, as always.
But what is the point of it closing? How will it stop a Club making an offer for one of our players on the 10th June or vice versa?
I agree the closing of it seems pretty pointless, so you want to buy from a team in the world club cup. I can write an answer phone message they can use.....I'm sorry, we're busy at the moment in a pointless money grabbing competition. We will complain about player workload and injuries later on in the domestic season. Please leave a message and we will get back to you after we have finished making money....beep
According to the local London press Thorup was offered the QPR job last Tues. He turned it down Wednesday. Mason was interviewed again on Thursday and offered the job on Friday. Yesterday the appointment was officially announced - meanwhile at Carrow Road !!!!
There really isn’t much need to rush is there, it’s the worst kept secret that he is signing so most fans already know who it will be. I’m sure Knapper will be staying in touch regarding any squad developments. This is the only opportunity that these guys get to have a holiday
I really must buy a pair of your yellow and green tinted glasses Suffolk. Why does it have to remain the worst kept secret? If it has been agreed why can't we be told? Farmers do not go on holiday during harvest time. Father Christmas does not go on holiday in Dec. Football Managers do not book holidays for when the transfer window is open.
PinkUn have said he is on holiday, I’m just going by what they’ve reported. I just don’t see the big issue in when the announcement is made. It’s going to happen and he’s not missing any training or match time with the players
