Like the swallows, which appear every summer, lesser spotted posters can be seen flitting around the forum whenever there’s a transfer window …

… is there a Chris Packham, on here, who can explain this phenomenon <laugh>

If true (and I know he is a pain on the pitch) that will be a good statement from him

To be honest it's quite a brave move from him, fair play ...

... he'll just have to struggle by on £250,000-a-week at Old Trafford <laugh>

Jobs off according to Keith, £25m, has a higher release clause but sounds like we are knocking some off for Jobes commitment last summer, gutted but goes with my best wishes, I’m tired of our players being linked away can we have some incoming links now :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

For me Neil also competes for the position Jobe played and at some point Rigg plays deeper. We need depth, options competition. Henderson plus Henderson 2.0 ie a specialist for the cdm role.

Keith just recycling the other Sky story. KLD via Romano has stated otherwise.

Yep exactly, Neil becomes ELF's understudy.

Why not just bring in Hendo and a first choice DM

I'm not sure this 'Jobe situation' has anything to do with 'a model' tbh.

I'd imagine the club would be happy for him to stay at Sunderland as we're only going to have to replace him ...

... the problem with highly talented players is that they're ambitious and other clubs will want to buy them.

And, as has been said on here, the only way to attract ambitious young players is to allow them to advance their careers when they're ready.

Clarke, Stewart and now Watson have gone and SAFC are still progressing.

We've just brought in a '16 year old Irish superstar' who had a choice of clubs ...

... that probably wouldn't happen if we 'played hardball' with Jobe in my opinion.

We're building up a reputation as firm but fair negotiators, a far cry from the hapless mugs we've been in the past.

Ideally, the Bundesliga club want to complete a transfer in time to include Bellingham in their squad for the forthcoming Club World Cup in the United States.

Sunderland’s owner, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, and sporting director, Kristjaan Speakman, are understood to be resigned to the loss of Bellingham this summer.

However, with the 19-year-old contracted to the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2028, they are in a strong negotiating position and are adamant Bellingham will only be leaving on their terms.

Reports in Germany have suggested Bellingham’s contract contains a €40m release clause (around £35m), but have claimed Dortmund are hoping to complete a deal for a lower initial fee.

The Sunderland hierarchy are likely to be willing to discuss a range of compromise options, but will insist the final overall package for the deal is worth at least £35m. There have been suggestions that Dortmund could be willing to pay an up-front sum of around £25m, with the rest of fee made up of future add-ons.

Don't think we have anyone in our current squad to fill the void Jobe leaving will create... We do have skilful players, but no-one has the physicality that Jobe has...If anything not only replace Jobe, But add another central midfield player with that kind of Physical presence
