I said after the final that we clearly try to emulate them and that style/formation is identical, albeit levels and levels better. But we have to shake off whatever this ****ing malaise is we’ve grown with transfers, it’s like we’re terrified of doing anything anymore and I just don’t get it. We’ve got the added problem of a dogshit academy producing nothing either, not even close to the scale of clubs here or PSG or Barca, etc. I don’t get why we find it so difficult. I think having Howes nephew in that position is a huge mistake. There’s got to be a change somehow because the end result will be another plod in the CL and a failed season in the PL, as we won’t have anywhere near the squad and will end up relying on geriatrics and watching Murphy follow Almirons path.
Whether or not it's only the money, it's one thing we simply can't / won't compete on. The big 6 pay huge salaries in comparison and players only have short careers. So I can't blame anyone going for the big money deal if there are 2 offers on the table. It's human nature. We will only attract those who want to feel like legends, the way Bruno, Tonali & Isak are. But that will cut out a whole load of players who want the best £££ offer. We just need to accept that. Not everyone holds the moral ground of what we might think is a great 'project'. The big 6 all still have way more player pull than we.do. it's just a simple fact.
Other rumours include Noni Madueke and Moise Kean, not interested in Madueke and Kean was **** for Everton, but he's been on fire this season.
Doubt they will get anywhere near that given all Clubs know Man U need to sell and are desperate to sell.
Think the point, at least for me, is that Mitchell can have that conversation in private, but it’s not very professional to have that conversation in public.
It’s a fair assumption to suggest he probably did but it fell on deaf ears. Not fact, obviously, but it’s possible.
Semenyo, Elanga, Dibbling... Plenty of good options from these shores. Or we might get an exciting, out of the blue surprise from overseas, as we did with Guimaraes and Tonali.
