I thought of looking at their run-in, but then remembered how unreliable Turkish sources are...

Whilst Ali Gold is still saying no decision has been made yet, quite a few other sources are indicating Postecoglou is likely to be sacked.

If he is, I'll get a new poll up with who people would prefer as his replacement, the names I think will be most in frame so far are:

    Thomas Frank
    Andoni Iraola
    Marco Silva
    Roberto Di Zerbi

If there's anyone else you think will be a strong contender feel free to shout them out, I can do up to ten names in a poll IIRC.

    ... a fine retort ...

... although the last one you sent us before them was even worse ... some bloke called Kane ... but at least it was just on loan and we got to send him back so he could ensure that you'd win **** all whilst we were winning a Premier League and an FA Cup <whistle>

... can you tell I'm a bit bored?

Ribbing aside - I do think it would be rather classless to sack Ange after he has brought you your first trophy in 572 years etc...

It’s a head and heart scenario though.

The trophy win was bloody phenomenal but it can’t be overlooked how badly he’s done as a manager for around 20 of his 24 months in charge. He does seem to still retain the full backing of the players though and rumours are Romero will push an exit if Ange leaves, the club need to have a serious think as to what is best.

I won’t be pissed if he’s gone but I will be gutted if we lose Romero (and any others who may follow suit).

Get rid of Ange and bring in Iraola. He’s a proper class act and would definitely improve you.

What worries me about Brentford or Brighton managers is that both clubs have such a robust backroom system in place, it almost doesn't make a difference who sits in the dugout as long as they aren't a complete donkey. Brighton's ridiculous turnover of managers in recent years is proof of this.

Iraola is very exciting but plays a similar style and would suffer high injuries here as he had at Bmouth.

Silva strikes me as the type of manager who will thrive at a mid table club but no higher.

    Which means...

All aboard the Glasner Express <diva>

Don't want to see us go 3 at the back again tbh so I'm not sure on Glasner. We'd have to ship out a lot of wide players and restructure the squad.

Completely agree on Brentford and Brighton though. Very difficult to tell if you're getting a Potter or someone who's a top coach.

I met a lot of people at the parade last week and I was the only one saying, out loud at least, I'd rather Ange goes out on a high this summer rather than keep him and sack him early next season. I was in the pub before he gave that speech tho which might have changed my mind a bit. That said, the more I see the names we're linked with, and the more I hear that the players are behind him the more I want him to stay. Never thought I'd say it a month ago but I think we should just keep him and see how it goes.

I still like Iraola and think he's just a better coach that could continue with the squad if he replaced Ange next season. And who knows, if we wait there might be a surprise name become available.

I was well on board his train earlier in the season but the only concern I have with him is that like Ange, his style is heavily reliant on sprints and intense pressing and it causes well above average amounts of injuries.

IF Ange does go, I think Frank would be my preferred pick. Tactically flexible, proven at improving players, works well within financial restrictions and tends to often have the support of his players.

My all time favourite manager, followed by Jimmy Bloomfield, Martin O'Neil, Gordon Milne and Jock Wallace ...

What our ownership did was classless ... just as your's will be if you sack Ange now...

So winning the PL and then getting dragged into
the relegation mire the next season, is more
deserving of the boot before season end than
being dragged into the relegation mire but
winning a lesser trophy before season end ??

Nope. 22 league losses just isn't acceptable.
Finishing the season with a 12 match run of 1 win, 2 draws and 9 losses is appalling, too.
Our squad isn't right for the manager and vice versa. It's best for everyone if he moves on.

Actually your PL was a present from Spurs. It was ours to lose, which we did. Then to top it all,we went to play Newcastle,a relegated Newcastle, lost 5-1 and gave Arsenal 2nd place.A season to remember indeed. But we are Spurs. We feel sorry for everybody!
