    Max disgraces himself again.

He was in the right for the first incident with Russell, but that second crash is just completely unacceptable. I agree with Robserg, should be disqualified.

Like he should've been in Brazil '21 for trying the same thing.

Piastri wins, Hulk gets 5th, Nando gets his first points, stewards bottle it.

Verstappen is handed an immediate 10-second time penalty, dropping him from fifth to P10. So he stays in the points, just.
But that means Hulkenberg goes up to fifth - who saw that coming?

I don’t really understand why RedBull thought he should give the place to Russell? Even so, shocking from Max there at the end - I was also expecting a disqualification, although I’d expect him to get penalty points now which will tip him over into a ban, I think?

Just checked Verstappen is back down to 8 penalty points now, so even if he gets 2-3 for this he’ll still be just short of a ban.

Not sure there’s a published system, but historically it’s been 1 point for minor incidents, 2 points for a wildly over optimistic overtakes, three points for dangerous stuff. So this feels like a 3 to me.

    I don’t get it either .

I did find it interesting the Bernie was saying that there will have been all sorts of discussions going on ( possibly even involving FIA ) .

I would really like to know were the team advised to give the place back ?

Because I didn’t think that was allowed .

Rachel ( ? ) said I hope they find some answers for you ( Meaning the team ) .

    His response “ I’m sure they won’t “

The FIA report on Max's penalty says it was going to be no further action for leaving the track, so Red Bull ordered him to yield the position unnecessarily

I think he also said 'and it's me!!!!'.
Didn't sound very flattering for his relationship with Ferrari.

I like Lewis. Pretty much always have. I met him a couple of times, once when he was in GP2 and once when he was at McLaren, and he was unfailingly polite and pleasant.

He’s lost a bit of pace, and that was clear in the last year at Mercedes. Not loads, but a bit. I never thought he was going to go in and beat Leclerc at Ferrari either, because CLC is actually underrated and has been there a long time. CLC effectively ended Vettel’s career in fairly similar circumstances.

All that being said, he either needs to be better, or he needs to stop. All this “it’s the car, it doesn’t suit him” stuff just doesn’t really wash. He’s a seven time champion, one of the best of all time, and he needs to show it. If that’s not there any longer, finish the season out and stop (he won’t, because he’ll want to see if they get a jump with the new regulations). I don’t see him suddenly being quicker than CLC though, I’d just rather not see him finishing a stellar career by being made to look pretty ordinary.

Bit like Schumacher did but he had been out of F1 for 3 or 4 years and had a neck injury and was older then Hamilton is now so. Hamilton probably still struggling not having the best car still.

Lance Stroll qualified in 14th place for the Spanish Grand Prix

Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll missed the Spanish Grand Prix with injury, in the aftermath of losing his temper in the team's garage.

The Canadian is said by sources to have damaged equipment in the garage and sworn at team members after being eliminated at the end of the second qualifying session, in which he was 0.535 seconds slower than team-mate Fernando Alonso.

Asked to confirm Stroll had lost his temper in this way, an Aston Martin spokesperson said: "Lance was upset."

The spokesperson said the injury and the episode in the garage were unrelated.

An Aston Martin source later denied anything was broken or that Stroll swore at colleagues.

Aston Martin said Stroll would miss the Spanish Grand Prix because "has been experiencing pain in his hand and wrist".

The team said Stroll's medical consultant believed the discomfort was related to the operation he had in early 2023, when he broke both wrists in a cycling accident.

Stroll is to have an operation in an attempt to rectify the problem.

The situation puts his participation in his home race in Canada on 13-15 June in doubt.

If Stroll were to miss the race, it is not clear who would replace him as reserve drivers Felipe Drugovich and Stoffel Vandoorne are both racing at Le Mans on the same weekend.

Stroll was investigated by governing body the FIA after he failed to go to the driver weighing scales immediately after qualifying, as is required by the regulations.

The race stewards gave him an official warning for the omission.

The stewards' verdict said: "We reviewed the video footage from the garage which showed the driver of Car 18 [Stroll] exiting the car and leaving the garage from the back and not proceeding through the pit lane as required."

The stewards wrote that Stroll had sent them a letter explaining that "the reason for failing to immediately attend the weighing was because he was in pain and sought urgent medical attention for the pain.

"He attended the weigh-in and the media pen as soon as he was able to, before heading to the medical centre for further evaluation."

This is not the first Stroll has lost his temper as a result of a bad qualifying session.

In Qatar in 2023, he stormed out of the back of the garage and was involved in an altercation with his trainer as he left. He later apologised for the incident.
