Play up Farnborough How fortunate Portsmouth are to be playing Hampshire's finest club Though it seems like it's not the usual boring Gosport and Bognor because they're installing new pitches
Pompey will complete their pre-season programme by welcoming Dutch top-flight opponents to Fratton Park. John Mousinho’s side are set to host PEC Zwolle on Saturday, August 2 (3pm kick-off) – one week before the start of the new Championship campaign. It follows on from previously announced friendlies against Woking, Farnborough, Crawley, Reading and the Hawks. PEC Zwolle finished 10th in the Eredivisie last season and just missed out on qualifying for the European play-offs. Their most notable achievement arguably arrived in 2014, when the side thrashed Ajax 5-1 to lift the KNVB Cup for the first time. They then defeated the same opponents again a few months later to win the Johan Cruyff Shield – the Dutch equivalent of the Community Shield. Ticket information for this game will be announced in due course. Date ........................
