Rovers win again (hull won well Thursday too) but they are making it a bit harder for themselves than they should. For the moment 4 clear with Wigan at Catalan today (could be close)
They seem to hold teams in the first half and blitz 'em in the second half. That's not going to work every game though, it's gonna bite 'em on the arse eventually. This game was harder than it should've been.
I think Rovers were near on full strength - Hargreaves was banned so didn't play on the other hand, Morgue wont be eligible for the final - Martin, McIlorum, and Gildart are all long term injured so last night was almost the Wembley squad
Rovers voluntarily finished with 12 men for the last 5 minutes so Minchella didn't get a ban for the Final, he had a couple of scuffles with the Saints players. A good positive win which showed they wasn't thinking of the Final until safe late into the game.
A few walking wounded at the end Rover.. they came to not mess about. Lewis was his usual wind people up self, I thought he'd gone past that. Amazing that they have only conceded 21 tries all season... and apparently the coaching staff went mental with them Wednesday as they had trained poorly. Mourgue will be a big miss next week which will likely mean Broadbent plays FB..
I know Willy Peters has had a word with Mikey because he doesn't want him getting sin binned or red carded, just hope he not like that in the Final. I was really pleased they took the game seriously, it would've been so easy not too. I'm hoping they keep the same mindset they've had all season so far, it'll certainly do my nerves the world of good.
The final is for Rovers to lose. Wire have suffered big time with injuries to key players. There is talk of George Williams being rushed back but he will hardly be match fit. Hopefully Lewis will be a team player rather than trying to do it all himself to win the Lance Todd award.
Where he took the 'p' out of Lomax for the pass into touch that caused it to kick off resulting in Minch and their Wellsby being told to sort it out by the referee. He doesnt need to go there. He gets abuse every week AT... comes with the territory.
