I think... Dibbling will be a Spurs player within the next week. Just get the feeling. And Spurs will look to build a team that's exciting and young whilst moving on Son etc for big fees to help pay for it.
Looks like Liverpool will be signing Wirtz. No other way of putting this, that is an incredible signing if they complete it.
Take him at heart beat. He may have lost a yard, but you don't lose that vision and passing ability. Would be a great signing on a one year deal
The more I think about it the more I think a loan for Ramsdale is stupid. Either he stays or we sell him
I expect his wages are very high even with any relegation clause. So getting them off the books is where a loan comes in
Academy players are given a lot more leeway by supporters. Tons of examples of players who we hoped might make it of given a chance and who have disappeared off the football map. I criticized Dibling for one area of his game and it’s at a higher standard because he is valued at the highest standard and if I was the buying club looking to spend £50m then I would be concerned about his defensive work rate based on the little evidence we have of him in men’s football(this season)
Forster released by Tottenham; the twitterati massive about to explode with "bring him home" tweets, joining the likes of Tadic, Redmond, Romeu, Ings, Ralph, JWP, Rohl ... let it goooo, and leave the past in the past.
Yeah he will be on 6 figures, was more referencing the info posted here that he is open to staying but wants to go on loan to keep his England hopes alive. If he were to go on loan then it just handcuffs us. We either have to go into the season with McCarthy/Bazunu as the keeper options or loan someone in ourselves. Can’t see too many good keepers wanting to join permanently knowing that if we do go up then Ramsdale comes back and almost certainly makes them the back up. You’ve played all season and helped get a side promoted and then a guy comes back and takes your place because he didn’t fancy a season in the Championship.
I'd be fine with McCarthy as keeper to be honest. Don't think he's anywhere near as bad as made out and is more than fine for the championship. Would rather sort other positions than spend a decent chunk on a keeper.
Yeah I wouldn’t be too fussed going with Bazunu/McCarthy as the options. Don’t know enough about how Still wants to play to know if the keeper needs to be good with his feet
If a loan is the only way that we keep Ramsdale for the next crack at the PL (assuming that we go up next season) then I wouldn't be against it. I think it will be extremely difficult to get another GK of his quality again and it would appear that he has some affinity with the club. Hopefully Still will sort out the defence in front of him and we stop conceding 60 plus goals a season which has been our achilles heel for the past 7 seasons. I'll be ok with Macca staying as a back up but want to see a new GK coming in for Bazunu either with a loan or permanent and worry about the following season when it happens.
I agree that it would be difficult to persuade a decent goalkeeper to join us permanently if there was a strong risk of them losing their replace to a returning-Ramsdale after one year. However, just the fact that we'll be in the Championship I think will make it difficult to persuade a decent goalkeeper to join us permanently. So I'm already of the view that we're faced with a season of either McCarthy/Bazunu or a loanee goalkeeper. And therefore, I'm very open to the idea of loaning out Rasmdale - but only if it doesn't come with any purchase condition (because selling him next summer seems less beneficial than selling him this summer).
