Grouting done, shower in, glass in, sealant done (that black sealant is officially a bitch) just waiting for my piece of slate to arrive at the builders merchants and then I can cut it to size and put the shelf in but this project it almost licked
Good job mate. I wasn't too sure about the black sealant when you first mentioned it, but now having seen it finished, it looks good. Now for the water sealant test to check it don't come pissing down through the ceiling lol (unless it's on the ground floor).
Yeah it's on the ground floor. Had to dig out the concrete base to fit the new waste, and it's literally sitting on top of broken up granite lol. No damp proof when this place was built, so I've used a plasticiser in my mortar that the shower tray sits on to stop any rising damp. I put an new roof on this bathroom around 15 years ago. It's a lean to on the back of my old cottage. It was so rotten that I had to cut out the old joists and basically build a new roof from the walls up. When I took everything off, I found an old baccy tin on one of the walls, rusted but still had some baccy in it. Matey back in the day must have put it there when he was putting the original roof on. And at some point he would have stopped for a *** break only to realise it was buried under the joists, battens, felt and slate tiles
Made myself a nature pond then proceeded to thieve ****e from nature to make it look natural. Who knew tadpoles love cucumber?
Lol I’m doing the same thing atm. I dug a pond in my front garden about 20 years ago and I thought it was evaporating, but it turns out the liner is pierced So I’ve dug it all out again and made it a bit deeper this time. Once the liner is in I will go to a local lake and rob it off oxygenating plants and some tadpoles etc. Pics to follow
Busy replacing all of the old facias and soffits. Got a scaffold going up next weekend to do the gable end.
