They’ll likely have one bank account full of IOU’s and promissory notes. It’s how investment banks work. Remember GFH and Matt’s best friend as chairman
Well I would say that Kinnear's contract was due to end tomorrow 31st May 2025, so we let him join Everton 2 1/2 weeks prior to his contract ending. Could we have kept him away from them until 1st June then yes, but was it really worth it. In reality we have no idea who our targets really are, so the fact that certain players are linked with a multitude of clubs as well as ourselves is virtually meaningless. I guess it comes down to how petty the board wanted to be. Hammond and his assistant Gary Penrice, agreed a 12 month contract back in October 2023, until the end of the summer transfer window in 2024 and I presume that this was renewed for a further 12 months. Thus both Hammond and Penrice are under contract with us until 1st September, and won't be able to join another club until either after that date, or as Everton have already acknowledged, they pay us compensation. With Adam Underwood heading up the recruiting team, I expect that both Hammond and Penrice have had very little involvement with the club in the last month or two, so they are probably effectively on "gardening leave", until their contracts expire or someone buys their contracts out
Thank you. I was just asking the question. Tough enough to stay up let alone have ex-employees knowing our strategy to do so.
